^I agree on most of those points but truffle pigs (or truffle hogs) are a very real thing. It's not an "imaginary mushroom job" at all. Plenty of farms have domesticated pigs that are trained for such a purpose and are not meant to be eaten.

Personally,I like Sunshine Islands better.

Sunshine Islands.
Because the fact that you don't have to use a stylus.

Sunshine Islands was a major improvement of Island of Happiness, so I'd have to say Sunshine Islands.

I prefer island of happiness.

I've never really bothered playing Island of Happiness, so my vote goes to Sunshine Islands. Even if I played IH, I would probably not change my mind. I love Sunshine Islands.

I prefer Sunshine personally even though i dont have islands of happiness but i did some research before i got sunshine islands and IoH has really fiddly controls and had really bad ratings on Amazon.
I love Sunshine islands though apart from the fullness meter.

As someone who has played both games a lot, I can say Sunshine Islands is MUCH better.

Island of Happiness had way too many people for me to be able to track every day, and the island itself was way too large and empty.
I never really got into mining in that game because reaching the mine was very boring (not to mention that forest you must go trough to reach the mountain is almost maze-like).
To me large, empty places + Stylus only controls + Short in-game days are a bad combination for any kind of game.

Getting sunstones is way too easy for them to be a problem, just giving 5 liked gifts to a person is enough to get one, keep giving more until you reach 2 hearts and (if it's one the many characters that live alone) you get another one!
The islands in SI are far smaller and generally more filled with life (VS IoH's), so it's easier to move around and it's less boring to walk around. Not to mention you can instantly travel through them with the boat, which makes the teleport stone very useless.

I just wish they had made portraits for the sub villagers in SI, though... I like them a much more than their IoH relatives, but their facelessness bothers me. I mean, they're pretty much as important the other characters, why couldn't they get their own portraits?

My only "major gripe" with SI is the way I am asked if I want to put food in the feeding bin... If I didn't wanted to I wouldn't be trying to! I need to take out the stylus and drag the food around the screen.

I played Happiness and then Sunshine. I loved the storyline the Happiness when I first played it but the controls really bugged me and I found it so hard to rasie money and I missed having a cat. Also, I lost my game...And I had just married Denny and was about to have a child. I would never see Denny again. *Sob*.
Then I played Sunshine... I watched the title screen and guess who I saw-- all my friends from Happiness! I loved the storyline in this game too, but I didn't marry Denny this time. Instead, I married Will. I've just had a child-
a boy called Jeremy! The controls are much easier in Sunshine and there a new animals! You can get different coloured horses, dogs, cats, chickens, sheep, cows... And there's a pig and other wild animals!

I loved Island of Happiness, but then I got to the mine and made a fortune and got bored. So I played Sunshine. I voted for it.

I voted Island of Happiness. Sure, Sunshine Islands improved upon Island of Happiness... but if we never had IoH, would we have SI? To me Sunshine Islands feels like an extended re-imagining of Island of Happiness, kinda like Back to Nature was for Harvest Moon 64.

I voted Sunshine Islands because:

First off, I HATED when people moved out in IoH. It was such a pain in the butt to get them back on the island.
Secondly, I loved the fact that there were wedding outfits. I almost threw my DSi in a fit of giggles and happiness mixed with daydreaming when I saw Vaughn in that tux with no hat.
Thirdly, there were TWO more characters, one I liked so much I married him ^_^
Fourthly (I'm wondering if these are even words now), I loved all the islands, because even though they were a bit small, they were really creative and filled with life.
And finally, the wild animals are so cute and can do work for you, just like the 100's of harvest sprites.

What I didn't like is dragging over the items in the shipping bin. I just found that a tad annoying.

Other than that, I love SI!

I like SI better. More to do. The people don't go away if you don't talk to them for a wile. I just enjoyed it more

I don't know why but IoH was just more fun for me. Plus Will is a creeper.

SUNSHINE ISLANDS!!! YEAH!!! I love pigs and I love the controls!!! IMMA HAPPY DUCK!!! AND THERE WAS LILY!!! Yeah, I know I'm a girl and all that nonsense, but she is sp much FUN to befriend! Shame about Will though... that's the one con. I'm already married and he's like "You are more beautiful than the light of day." GET AWAY CREEPER!!! MARRY STINKIN LILY IF IT'LL GET YOU AWAY FROM ME, ELLIOT, AND LOLA!!! ... Ok. I'm better now.
