Which one do you like more, Sunshine Islands or Islands of Happiness?
I prefer Islands of Happiness. It feels more fun to me unlocking all of the villagers and helping restore one island instead of several. Then again, I haven't played Sunshine all the way through.

Yeah.
I hate the touch screen, but I think Sunshine takes away a lot of the hard work. It's cool to unlock new villagers then to raise up islands in my opinion.

Yeah, me too.
But, I do agree about that. Island of Happiness is a big challenge, while Sunshine Islands is kind of easy : P

I prefer Sunshine Islands because...
- No one moves out (Hated that in IoH and in MM)
- Fruit Trees
- Wild Animals can find really rare and expensive stuff
- The pig pet!
- The option to use the control pad and buttons
- Will and Lily
- Wedding Clothes
- The ability to "date" Alisa
- Not a whole lot of sub villagers! (We didn't need so many when we had a main cast)
I do wish that we didn't have to find all 100 sunstones though and that the crop system had improved somewhat from IoH instead of being the same. Another con I have about the game is that it forces you to marry someone in SI where as in IoH, I don't think it forces you, but I could be wrong since I did want to marry Natalie, Witch Princess, Sabrina, and Vaughn.

Good point.
Makes me want to play Sunshine Islands. I don't own the game yet, so you know what I have to do.
@Spicy

I know, she's super pretty.
Plus, she shouldn't have to marry Will the creeper XDD
And I haven't always been one.
I think I became one back in... early December, I believe

Well, if you don't own it, read my suggestion to gamers who don't own SI yet (It's long!)
Ronin19 wrote:If you feel like collecting 100 sunstones and dealing with a crop system that's very specific, then try it out. You just have to keep count of how many water/sun points your crops are getting to make sure they don't drown or get dehydrated. Also, if you've looked over the guys and girls in this game, don't like them but you want to finish the story line then I'd avoid getting SI since the game practically forces you to get married.
The game does have some pros in it that IoH doesn't have. People don't move out if you completely ignore them unlike in IoH (which was the whole point in me getting SI). You get the option of using the control pad and buttons instead of having to be forced to move your character around by using the stylus unlike in IoH where using the stylus is the only way to move your character. There are a bunch of islands and new features in this game that IoH doesn't have like asking wild animals to get you items, growing trees, having a pet pig and cat, having special animals like the suffolk sheep, jersey cows, and the silkie chickens.
All in all, its really up to you if you want a Harvest Moon game that challenges you, but if you've had HMDS and didn't like collecting those 101 harvest sprites, then I'd stay away from SI.
I forgot to add the special animals to my pros of SI!

Sunshine Islands, for everything mentioned above. I just don't like the water/sun points system, as probably most gamers don't. I don't play IoH since I've got the Island completed, it became really boring. But SI gave me more goals, and I still play it.

The subject title honestly just made me so happy haha.
And probably SI. I played IoH longer, but thats cuz I got it first and then when I got SI I realized it was basically the same thing but slightly better.

I prefer Island of Happiness.
I didn't like the plot of or the Farm Degree system in Sunshine Island. Also I found taking care of the two new pets more of a chore than a bonus.

I list more CONS than PROS about SI, and that's why I was never interested in buying this game.

I
LOVE that characters moved out in IOH. It's really useful if you have a marriage rival move-out, if you seriously plan to marry a bachelor/ette. It's a game advantage. If you want Denny, ignore Lanna. If you want Natalie, ignore Pierre. If Main Villagers moving out is that big of a pain, all you have to do is talk to them
once every 30 days, is that so hard?
If you get them married to a rival, they will never leave the island.
Pigs don't live on your farm, you have to travel all the way to another island just to house them. That's kind of annoying, even though they are cute, I don't see the point. Pigs are also a weird choice for Harvest Moon, because farms breed pigs to
eat . Giving them an imaginary "mushroom job" makes no sense, you should be able to hunt for them without a pig.
Dating Alisa is also a waste of time, since you can't marry her. In the later games, you
can marry Alisa, but you still cannot have children if that is important to you.
Wedding clothes are hardly a reason for me to purchase SI, since that's the only PRO I can think of for this game. SI
100% improved Shea's wedding ceremony, though the Witch Princess ceremony I'm not very sure. Shea's wedding is great, and if you have a child you can all visit Shea's island together.
While the wedding is more fancy, married life leaves much to be desired. The husband can cook you 1 dish for lunch, otherwise there is virtually no difference from IOH (unless you marry Shea). Your kids still look and act the same, and family events are pathetic. They take very long to age, that's it.
Personally, I enjoyed the sub-villagers and I loved the game controls from the last game.
I also noticed Vaughn is actually colder and
meaner to you than he originally was in IOH, so that's sorry news for the Vaughn fangirls. Everyone else is nice.
