inorite? This is the first time I'm actually really happy right off the bat for the designs. Most times they're ok, and kinda grow on me later,(although I've never really liked D/P's) or they stay just ok.(as in I don't hate or dislike them, but I don't like them at all ether. They're like the the Switzerland of trainer designs lol) But this time I was REALLY happy right off the bat. The girl is actually CUTE without looking like ether a bimbo, or an overly boyish girl. This one is a nice in-between

Well, I may be adding the anime personality but the D/P girl seemed like such a bimbo to me.Obsessed with her appearance, dressing in a way that was more cute than would work when one is on ad adventure(I.E., mini skirt and tiny top, and then for her Plat outfit she had only a coat[that we could see] that was REALLY short and no pants. The only people who show off that much leg in snow are the girls who are very bimbo-esque. Plus, nothing about her made me think she was the kind of girl who would want to become a pokemon master, fight to get to the top and save the world. she looked more like she wants to enter contests and be ~♥~pretty~♥~. This girl, while she does have a little skirt has tights under it, which will help protect her while she's out there in the thick of it. She looks like she's both feminine and smart. She looks strong enough to hold her own, keep her femininity in tact and smart enough to balance this out in her outfit. Sorry to the fans of Hikari/Dawn but she just kinda bugged me.

It seems to me that you just didn't like her as a character. I hardly think that because she wears a mini-skirt and participates in contests that that makes her a bimbo. I think that may be an exaggeration.

I wasn't trying to say her mini skirt makes her a bimbo, just that her outfit+the things she'll have to do when she travels makes her seem like it. And Eeveelutions would be epic. I LOVE Eevee and all it's forms. But I noticed the place with the rock for you to get a Leafeon has been frozen over. I wonder if we'll have a new forest with a new rock. I hope so since Leafeon is my fav Eeveelution.

Yes, well no one in Sinnoh really dresses for the weather. Candice is a good example. She is a gym leader in Snowpoint, but she's wearing a skirt, and there are blizzards every day there. Not to mention, her gym is filled with snow and ice. I hardly expect anyone in Pokemon to be dressed appropriately for the weather. I'm just saying I think the bimbo comment was unnecessary.

I don't get what you mean. You're playing as her if you play as a girl in the game, so you're making her do things in the game. Also, never in the game did it say that Dawn is "obsessed with her appearance". That's just anime Dawn. And anime Dawn has a lot of character development throughout the DP seasons. Being a coordinator is something she wanted to do. Not everyone has to be a pokemon trainer. I will say that I disliked how she only used "cute looking" pokemon, but that changed when grew out of it after accepting her Mamoswine. I do agree that her outfit is impractical, but so was Leaf's. And just so you know, game Dawn never does anything that would classify her as a bimbo- she is a silent protagonist just like all the others.

And I also love Leafeon, so hopefully we get another moss rock!

Candice is a little different. One could say it's a way of training her body and becoming one with her element and her pokemon. While you're shivering in your huge coat and boots, distracted from the thick of battle, her body has adapted so she can focus on taking you down. It's the same idea for Red on the mountain top. And "bimbo" may have a stronger connotation than I remember nowadays, but I still stand behind my saying I feel she looks like a bimbo. I might even have the wrong word, and being dyslexic I may have switched the word with the meaning I'm thinking of, but I don't think so. Even if you feel it's over the top, I didn't mean for it to sound that way. She just seems very bimbo-esque to me.

Yes, true but her outfit completely contradicts the path you go down in the game. She doesn't look like the bad@$$ who takes down a man who wants to rule the UNIVERSE. And yes, never in the game did it say that, but who else would go adventuring in a miniskirt like that if they didn't care a great deal about how they look?(not to mention you're supposed to be 10....) And I did forget about Leaf. She too kinda bugged me, but not to much as Hikari/Dawn. I guess I have issues with girls going out and doing the things one does in such a short skirt. At least. May was willing to have bike shorts under her's. I also don't watch the anime anymore(I only watch the first few eps to get a feel for the new characters and how to say some of the new names) and yea, she's a silent protg, but her look still doesn't fit what she does. She looks like the kind of girl who, with one trip in the road will give her poor knee a big ol' scrape and she'll start crying until her pokemon come out to comfort her. Not the kind of girl who has the power behind her to take down a psychopath bent on controlling time and space. Sorry if my feel on her upsets you both, but that's just how I feel about her and why I like this new girl a lot more. She looks like the kind of girl I would want my child to look up to(as I did to Misty when I was little. She, and Sailor Moon were the only strong girls on TV back then) Dawn just felt to me like she set back how girls are looked at. She seemed like one big stereotype to me. Sorry if this offends. This is just how I feel.

Leafeon is too good a pokemon for them to not let us have. And if we can just catch wild Eevee, it's be VERY strange for them to make Leafeon unobtainable. I'm just wondering where it'll be. Are we going to get a new forest? And what'll happen to all the pokemon you could get in the places that's now frozen over. How has that affected the ecosystem? And, why is it frozen over? Does this mean we'll find a lot of Ice types, or are we just going to be 100% cut off from those areas and there's going to be this weird frozen/not frozen cut-off. So many questions...

I understand how you feel about Dawn being a stereotype for girls. And if that is your opinion on Dawn, then I respect it. All I'm saying is that Dawn (or the Female MC) still defeats the evil team and becomes the champion even though she wears a short skirt. That's a fact. Unless the player doesn't get through the whole game.

Or the player plays the boy I'm just saying it just doesn't make sense. Kinda like in a lot of HM games they have some extra beautiful, ethereal girl who marries this agrage-joe farmer. The look by it's self just looks weird and just doesn't seem right.(now of course there's more to people than looks, but you get my point) She just doesn't look like the kind of girl to be able to do those things. Not like this girl(who totally reminds me of Sailor Moon who was a cross between silly blond and strong woman) I'm glad you're willing to respect my opinion though.

Ah. I don't mean to be insulting, she just seems weird to me. I think I'd like her more if she had a different outfit. One a little more suited to being outside and getting dirty.(All this talk has reminded me of Penny in The Big Bang Theory when she says "I tried being good at sports but I hated getting dirty!" lawl. That about sums up how I see Dawn.)

EDIT: Wanted to add that I don't hate Hikari/Dawn. I even can't decide who to ship her with. Lician, Riley, or male MC.(and of course anime-Dawn with Paul or...the spikey-haired red head who's name I never learned) I have a lot of pics of her on my PC too. My favs being the ones with her ether older with her fully evo'd pkmn looking bad@$$ as the master of Sinnoh, or with Dakarai looking just as awesome. I just think she could have been done better. She didn't seem to fit into the rest of the world around her.
