Calm down. Most likely they never had the idea to do something like this before. Not to mention you *could* say that LeafGreen and FireRed are sequels to Red and Blue(green actually) just as HG and SS are to Gold and Silver. Just think of it as they skipped Gray and bumped the remake/sequel of R/S/E and went straight to the 'remake' of B/W. Then it doesn't sound so bad, does it?

2nd gen is kind of a sequel to 1st gen, since you actually get to see the Kanto characters grown up.

Plus, in every game that takes place in a place we've already had things have changed and have been shown to have changed over time. Look at D/P/PT. in Plat they had the land change much like this one, only there's two this time.

I never heard that. And that would only be for the US names. "Pokemon" is a shorted way to say "Pocket Monster" in Japanese if I remember. Ether way that doesn't seem right.

I think the reason the games are called "pokemon" and not "pocket monsters" was the fact there was a series here called "moster in my pocket". It's actually called "pocket monsters" in Japan.

no..it's called Pokemon in Japan. At least most times. And no, it's called Pokemon cause it's shorter, and more attractive/easier to say in Japan for Children. I doubt it has anything to do with any other series.

Ya know, there's one thing I really wonder about. How is it, that HG/SS ext are years after the older games, yet have the same gym leaders, and yet this game takes place only two years after B/W and yet it has all new gyms....that's kinda weird.

All the other games had closure B/W was the only game that didn't. Team Rocket disbanded, Archie and Maxie learned that their goals were flawed, Cyrus got swallowed up somewhere in the Distortion World by Giratina and Charon got arrested. N is still out there somewhere that's why we got a sequel to Black and White so stop complaining and give the game a chance.

This. Don't knock it till you try it. You make it sound like nintendo is completely incompetent and can't actually turn out a good game. I bet this will be awesome. There will most likely be some stupid things like the strange change in gym leaders so soon, but I'm sure the rest of the game will most likely still be awesome.

I. Hated. Dawn. With. A. Passion. (in the anime, she didn't speak in the game so I had no problems with her) she was everything I hated in a girl.

This game looks okay to me, you shouldn't judge it man.

OMG.

I LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. the new FeMC's design. It's just...perfect. Feminine and slightly girly, but not enough to make me hurl, plus with a side of "exotic" or at least not so typical hairstyles. Yes, I really approve of this female protagonist.

As for the male MC's...he looks hilarious! But I don't know if I can take him seriously.

As for the rival, he looks attractive...but ~slightly~ typical. Although, he just looks more cocky if anything.

As for the other characters, I'm really liking them so far. I heard rumors that Cheren might be a Gym Leader this time around, so if that is so, I wonder how long after the events of the original B&W this game will be set in. Very curious if Team Plasma will make a return~ It would be smart for the game producers to have N return, but I would be very annoyed if N totally forgot about all the fiasco he caused/went through in the altercations with the BW!MCs.

Anyway, game looks really good so far! Looking forward to future information~

I love her too! She's adorable! I love the simplicity of her outfit, and the sailor moon/princess Leia thing she has going. SM's hair style has always been a fav of mine.

He looks a titch girly, but I know someone who looks just like that and he's awesome so I love this character too. It almost looks like the hat is on too tight, and he didn't have time to comb his hair before he left for this little 'photo shoot' X3

I'm meh on the rival. He almost looks like a new-age Silver Wannabe. I'm too in love with the other two to really notice him XD

That would be cool! Maybe one of the higher numbered ones cause I don't think he'll have a type. It'd be weird if he didn't have the pokemon he had before, and at a lower level. I'm still wondering what happened to the other gym leaders though. I mean, in HG/SS we had the same leaders and that takes place like, at least 4 years from the original games. And Blane's gym melted down and he was STILL a gym leader in a little room. So what happened to the others here? Did this sudden frost send them away? Well, Sinnoh had that problem in Plat(not to the degree I'd have liked though. Only the first area was changed!) and yet the leaders didn't change. Now, it'd be ok if the leaders in the areas that are gone moved on or even died, and since we're in a new starting area it'd make sense(although, this is supposed to be only 2 years later, and that's a lot of change and progress for 2 years...) I think they should leave some of the gym leaders alone. Maybe make them older or something but changing all of them is a bit much, when all the other leaders from other places stuck around just fine. I know they want to be all new with this one but it'd make more sense if this isn't like, 4-5 years down the road. Gym leaders aren't like contractors who only stick around for a year.


EDIT: I just saw on Serebii: The games can be played on any model of DS and 3DS, however they contain a region lock on DSi and 3DS models
Does this mean there will be 3DS vrs? If they have more than one model like ^ sounds that'd be awesome! I have a 3DS so I'd love to be able to use it. The only games I have for it are Kid Icarus and Mario kart X3

Well, perhaps Cheren may not be a Gym Leader...but the new Champion? He is the ambitious type, and I think it would be more symbolic if he took over the spot as Champion from Alder.

As for the other Gym Leaders, I dunno. It sounded like, from the translation that we were going to get MORE Gym Leaders from the more area that was frozen/unfrozen, but I don't know if those are going to be the eight gym leaders to Championship or seperate and possibly postgame stuff. Or maybe Nintendo will decide to break away from the eight gym habit, although I don't really see this.

If anything, if some of the previous Gym Leaders do get demoted/promoted, we will probably see them through out the story or as E4s.

Personally, I'm wondering what they are going to do with the Striaton Triplets/Bros, as there was a theory in the original B&W games that they were the Shadow Triad. But even if they aren't the Shadow Triad, I'd like to know the identity of the masked trio.

He'd make a good champion. Or a last leader like they did with Green. I think Champion would fit better though.

Yea, it did. Which makes me wonder if the frozen areas are completely blocked off, and what exactly happened. If say, Kyurem did it it'd start from the Chasm, one would think, and therefor the area affected by it seems off. Why would it hit a little town at the bottom of the map, and not the center of the area? I mean, it's obvious, but as a real phenomenon it wouldn't do that. It would only make sense if it started farther off and is just starting to creep in.
and I highly doubt they'd ever stop the 8 gyms thing. That's like taking out the turn-based battles. It's a part of the game that wouldn't feel right if they took it out.

That's what I'm thinking. I'd love to see them again. I could see some of them like Aloe doing some sort of relief for people who have been part of the freeze,(though I wonder what happened to the museum..) and maybe Skyla could/would be using her planes to help too. I could totally see them dropping down from their gyms to help the people. I really hope we at least see them.

I remember that. I think it was more of a joke, seeing as there's 3 of them and they missed the battle. I doubt nintendo would do that. It'd be interesting to see them again, but at the end of the last game they said 'you'll never see us again' and while that was to Touko and not this new girl, I doubt we'll see them again. Besides, what point is there to make them this big secret only to tell us who they are later? That's no fun!

Personally, I don't like any of the looks new characters shown so far. Except maybe the rival-ish guy. Of course, that's just looks-alone thing. I'm kind of anxious about how BW2 turns out. It may be brilliant, or it may be a flop. Or it may be a la XD:Gale of Darkness, which was also a sequel. (To Pokémon Colosseum).
Sorry for being so pessimistic, this is just how I feel.
