I don't know. I'm pretty sure that every region at least in the anime is supposed to have more than eight gyms. It only states that you have to beat eight gyms to get into the Pokemon League. It never says that there can only be eight. Trip in the anime went to other gyms instead of the one's Ash went to, and one of the badges he got looks like it might belong to the new poison gym leader. Besides, it's not like they took over gyms that other gym leaders were in last time. These two are both gym leaders to their own cities. I am hoping that there are more new gym leaders. I like having new things to do in a new game, but I still hope the old gym leaders, elite four, professor, Bianca and Cheren, and the old MCs are in game plot wise. It would be nice to see what's going on with them in Unova with the way it is now.

I think Team Plasma still may return. There were so many threads with them left kind untied. The fact that Ghetsis got away, and if he ends up being a part of Plasma in the new game, then the Shadow Triad will surely be behind him. I thought the Shadow Triad was crazy interesting anyway--only part of Team Plasma that was cool, so I'd like to see them expand on some of the others like them, and Concordia and Anthea.

Also, I'm not sure if Unova is really going to be frozen over all the way like that because there's enough room for everything on what's left of the map. I have a feeling that it's just a ruse, and they are using the frozen over areas to cover up updated spots on the map like they did with Platinum only they used cloud coverage.

Personally, I don't like any of the looks new characters shown so far. Except maybe the rival-ish guy. Of course, that's just looks-alone thing. I'm kind of anxious about how BW2 turns out. It may be brilliant, or it may be a flop. Or it may be a la XD:Gale of Darkness, which was also a sequel. (To Pokémon Colosseum).
Sorry for being so pessimistic, this is just how I feel.
And on the topic of the MC's clothing, the ones with the most practical clothes are probably Kris and Kate:

Well of course Kate's is piratical! It's a uniform But yes, Kris' was the most piratical. I also loved that they made the first girl seem so strong and smart. She looks prepared to take on the world. She was an EPIC first girl MC, and I think this new girl is representing us very well. She's strong AND cute!

yea, totally wouldn't>> and I know *just* short skirts doesn't, but her outfit+her anime persona(and her manga persona too) all gives her a rather snooty, bimbo-esque personality that I didn't like at all. But again, I don't hate her. as I said before I even want to ship her with a few people! I wouldn't do that if I hated her! She just annoyed me. She was a bad representation of the female base for that gen. That's just how I feel, and I'm sorry that it seems to offend so much.

I don't think they actually have more gyms, just different gyms. The anime also has places that the games don't so I wouldn't even take the anime into account. I mean, in the first season Gary had a badge that looked like a Companion cube!

Yes, new things are good, and I'm not wanting the exact same gym, but having 100% new leaders would be VERY weird since every time we get a remake like HG/SS the gyms are the same people even though it's been many years since the last game. So they would need a good reason to have all new gyms after only 2 years for it to make sense. I do think they'll all be in one way or another. I mean, it would be even weirder if after only 2 years everyone we know has vanished, yet Brock and Misty are still running their gyms 10 years down the line.

Yea, plus every game needs some sort bad guy to fight. I'm thinking ether they're going to ether pull a team rocket and try to start up again by themselves,(though the sages are all behind bars) or N will come back and try to do right by what's happened. Maybe even both.

It's obviously not 'all the way'. If it was we'd just end up with a new place. But I'm thinking the areas that are covered with ice will be blocked off so we can't get to anything before the city and that fancy bridge. And on that idea, I could see over time as you move through the game that the frozen area moves back as you fight whatever's happening, that is if we can.

I meant that what was shown as frozen over is too much--the regional dex is like twice the size of the last one, and there's so much less land to put eight gyms and more Pokemon on. I think they are just using it as a cover-up on the map, so people can't see how different the other parts of the region look because the did the same thing with Platinum only with clouds.

I only hope that this game does combine BW and BW2 into one epic story. I do want TP to come back only I hope they aren't quite as weak this time and they have a slightly changed goal. Maybe they are doing scientific things? I don't really care if N comes back at all, although I know he will because I was never really into even if I did feel bad for him at the end. I prefer when the evil team is a tad more bad « Mr.Gourmet's hat » than this one was--TG is a good example--so I am hoping to see Ghetsis and the Shadow Triad again. I would also like to Concordia and Anthea, but not as evil because them seemed very nice. Perhaps they could help out in some way. I feel like they did so well with storyline and characters in the last game that this one may have just as much in the same way.

I hope we can battle Hilda/Hilbert at some point. Hilda if you're playing as a girl or Hilbert as a boy.

Anywho, all the characters they've revealed thus far look really good to me. I wish we knew the default names of the MCs and rival. We might find out when Pokemon Smash airs though, since there's supposed to be a trailer. I wish they would stop making rivals childhood friends though. They use that way too much. It would be nice to meet your rival along the way. They feel more like a rival that way as opposed to "we're friends, let's battle!"

Yeah, I always liked Kris's outfit. I'm not too fond of the girl MC this time around, but that's because I really wanted to play as Hilda/Hilbert again....
This game is really turning out to be like XD:Gale of Darkness. Changed protag, new areas added, a few years on from the last game, old evil team returning (I presume), some old characters replaced with new ones, etc.
Maybe BW2 will be awesome as heck, I don't know.
And it's OK, everyone has different opinions. I just find that in a lot of places, people hate the MC's of the games because of their manga/anime counterparts, which is stupid, because the purpose of the MC''s to me is to imagine a personality for them. For example, I think Leaf is cool-headed and likes being mysterious, Kris is adventurous and a little bit smart-alecky, Lyra is happy-go-lucky and a tad hyperactive, May is easily anxious and strong-willed, Dawn is clever and occasionally excitable when it comes to battling, Hilda is reckless and brave, Solana is passionate and independent, Kate is very shy but friendly, Summer is stubborn and smart...you get the deal.

I personally hope that you can fight Hilda and Hilbert in a double battle with your rival on your side.

OMG, yes! That would be epicness. I loved the battle in HGSS against Lance and Clair with Silver. It was such a bummer than you could only do it once.

Maybe. I just don't like mixing game and anime canon. They're totally different and really don't mix.

That's why I said that maybe over time we'll be able to 'save' these areas and 'fix' the problem. And I could actually see them doing something like showing how nature affects the ecosystem. I mean, something weird is happening and is messing with the balance of nature. Maybe Team Plasma are trying to get Kyurem(and ended up making the two new things we have now, black kyurem and white kyurem) and this is causing all of nature to go out of whack. I mean, Plasma was made after PETA, so it would make sense. (plus the pokepocoalypse theory.) Not to mention, they have to have some sort of frozen over place. I mean, we've been told that your home town has been moved to the other size of the land to get away from it. They wouldn't do that if that land was still habitable.

It's a sequel, they kinda have to. It wouldn't be a sequel if they didn't I could see that Wheatly-looking prof. doing something weird. He look a little too cool to just be a normal prof who gives you your starters. There has to be something more with him. And the reason they weren't so badass is cause they were based on PETA, not a real gang. The reason team rocket were so cool was they were based on the real Japanese Yakuza(much like the Italian Mafia only Japanese) And Concordia and Anthea weren't evil. They were in the same boat as N if I remember. They only had an idea of what his father was trying to do but wanted what N wanted, that's why they helped you and were so nice.

That would be cool. I did love getting to battle with Silver before.(well, I do ship Silver/Kotone >w> But I think this time I'm going to ship MCXMC! I almost never do that! I've always been more for MC/rival o.o)

Same here. I'm tired of calling them MC! I want a name! And I bet it'll be cute, just like Kotone, Hikari,Touko, ext. I bet it'll also end in ko too.(ko means child in JP and is often at the end of girl's names) And yea, I think that's why Silver is so popular. He was a badass rival! Plus this kid looks kinda like a Silver-wannabe so maybe he's not a 'friend'(cause he looks a bit mean to be a friend. Most friends look a bit nicer)

That was my point A uniform is made to be practical.
Well, I liked the kind of outfit she had, but I never really liked it. It matches the 'time' that game is made in and gives the game a special feel, but the outfit it's self I never quite liked. I think it was the colors. Some colors just don't fit right together. and it was kinda obvious we wouldn't play as the same characters. We never really do. Even when we get a remake, the characters are always changed.(everyone wanted to play as Kris again but instead we got Kotone.)

Oh yea, at first almost no one is usually happy with the characters. It's kinda like a new FB or YT thing. Everyone hates it at first, and then they get used to it and calm down. And yes, that's what I do too, but I go by what they're wearing and how they look. Usually, their face gives me a sort of air-head impression, and the girls outfits, if not practical make me think they're too 'fashion forward' to really think about what will be needed to go on an adventure. To me, Leaf seemed like your average girl who wanted to be cute, and wore a skirt without anything under it. That's rather stupid when you have to climb things, or fly away on your pokemon cause ~everyone~ will see your panties, and that's not a smart move. Otherwise, Leaf seemed ok to me. Kris really seemed like her manga-self to me, other than the light air-headedness she was given. Kotone really seemed very peppy and someone who would annoy the snot out of Silver, but still have the determination that Kris had. May to me seemed very smart, wearing biker shorts in a tropical place. She seemed sensible and strong, much like Cheren but without the weird power complex. Dawn just seemed like she'd be all happy with her new cute pokemon, trip, hurt herself and cry like Sailor Moon always did. She just seemed like a ditzy cry baby to me. Not the kind of character I want to play. Touko seemed like a back-ally girl with street-smarts and able to take on the adventure at hand. The others you mention...I don't know who they are. I never played the ranger games minus the first one.

That does seem fun. And I almost hope, if we don't have someone like Belle/Cheren(sorry for mixing the JP and EN names, I don't remember all the EN ones) I wonder if the MC you don't pick will be your 'friend' and if this other dude will come by to take the last one. I hope he's not a friend, and an actual rival this time. He really doesn't look like he'd be much of a childhood-friend. More like, at the least a kid in town who's an outcast or he just moved in so you don't know him. Something.(it'd be kinda lame if they did the whole Silver thing and make him steal it :/)

As for the MCs names, I seriously hope they aren't so similar this time around Touko/Touya and Hilda/Hilbert was slightly obnoxious as I like to see them as seperate people from different families, but with their slight similarity in looks plus the similar name, it feels like their twins or something, so I hope the names follow the pattern from before like with Koki/Hikari and Lucas/Dawn or Hibiki/Kotone and Ethan/Lyra.

Yea, I didn't like their EN names. Touko/Touya was cute though. But they're the same person so it makes sense their names are very close. And most times by fans they are shown as twins.

I know but I like to make the most out of the characters I'm given in writing and I usually don't like to make MCs related, but I had to in this one because it didn't make much sense not to. Yes, the English names were terrible, although I can tolerate Hilda now, but Hilbert will never be tolerable to me because I really don't like names with bert in them. XD

I'm giving them default names in my head until I know what the canon names are.

Yes, I think that this game might have the team doing thing's that are a bit more scientific. Akuroma, the scientist guy, looks a bit sketchy to me anyhow. He looks like Ghetsis a little bit only with different colored hair and eyes. I wouldn't mind unfreezing the region if you had to do to help the people who were somehow frozen inside it. It's not really logical for them to still be alive, but video game logic is usually much different from real world logic. I mean, if certain people were frozen inside their specifics cities and places that would explain the need for some new gyms since there wouldn't be access to the other until the unthaw.

I wonder if there is eight new gyms entirely whether or not after beating the Pokemon League the first time that they would allow us to challenge the old gyms post game kind of like when you went to the Kanto region in GSC and HGSS. I really like when there's a lot of extra stuff to do after you beat the main plot. I miss having a Battle Frontier. I do wish they would bring that back as well.

Yea, I like to see them as the same person, and only one exists in whatever story I'm reading. It's weird to be if both are there if they're not in the game. And lol I just use their Japanese names. I liked "Hikari" so much I used that when I got the game, even though most times I use "Scarlet" Cause it fits with all the other color and stone names :3

But yea, that was my idea. The places that are frozen needed new gyms and the ones still around could get a make-over. It would make sense. I could totally see those gym leaders stepping down and helping people while someone else takes their place as new gym leaders with new gyms.

I am kinda of the fence on this. While I like the idea of all new gyms, it just seems like it wouldn't fit in the world we already have with the old games. They would need a pretty good reason as to why ALL the gyms are gone/changed/whatever after only 2 short years. Although since this place is far off from the others, maybe the way they do their gyms is different. Maybe you can only be a gym leader for so many years before a new person takes your place. Like being reinstated in a way.(though I know that's not quite the right word, forgive me)
Actually, I like the idea of having a place where we can fight the other gym leaders, I hated the battle frontier. Only really cause it TOTALLY changed my trainer card and I did NOT like that. I like my card, and I want it left alone tank u vawy much!>C The actual thing it's self was fine though. I'm meh on after-game stuff cause once I beat it, unless I have a lot of event stuff, or a shiny or I just really liked my playthrough/didn't like the game much I restart and do it again. Try different pokemon and do different things. Now that I know what to expect I like going back over again. The after stuff is usually skipped when I play.
