o.o sorry for sparking a flame with the whole hina thing... she's cute really.

i read about this one event where gardner plays out his proposal to his wife to allen (with allen playing as his wife xD). hina walks in on them and is all like, "daddy?! i thought you loved mommy! and you're even confessing to allen?!" hina ran out crying but allen said he'd sort things out. she's adorable guys. x)

I'm a bit torn between the two, but I think Allen is in the lead for now. I prefer his looks and I actually like the arrogance he possesses. While it can seem like too much, I have a feeling that they'll tone down everyone's dialogues in translation.
Plus, he's a kick « Mr.Gourmet's hat » hair stylist!

Neil on the other hand is the type I usually go for in HM games, and he plays the bass guitar.

I really like his dialogue too, but like I said, I have a nagging feeling that everything will be toned down =/

Aww! Hina, how are you so cute, and young and innocent? She is such a cute kid, my heart is melting! I wonder how Allen will be working that out!

His dad was always working and wasn't home much, so he doesn't really see him as close family. Allen doesn't admire the "work first, family second" line of priorities.

Both his mom and sister had really long hair but didn't know how to style/take care of it which is how he got into the hairstyling business. They were also lacking in domestic skills.

Childhood friends with Rod, they lived in different towns but their moms were friends with each other so they'd visit sometimes.
As for Neil's family

Not much is known about Neil's family except that his dad is a total douchenozzle (best guess abusive, verbally-- would explain why he uses that language and why he puts himself down a lot), and because of him it sounds like Neil took off from home at the earliest opportunity and eventually came to Echo Village. His mother would sneak sugar on his food (o_O) so that's why he has an acquired dislike of sweet things. As a kid he was pretty outdoorsy and it sounds like he was alone most of the time.

If he's still in contact with his parents (unsure, realistically he wouldn't be), it isn't on good terms. He doesn't really like talking about them much either.

I don't think he has any other siblings which is good, because while Neil turned out amazingly well, generally people like his parents shouldn't be breeding.

neil's parents must have been trailer trash or something. poor kid.

Well, apparently she liked sweets and didn't really care about her son's tastes >_>
But instead of serving him nothing but cake/cookies/whatever, since he would refuse that, she'd put it in stuff that shouldn't be sweet at all. Explains why Neil grew up to become a picky eater, even stuff that he normally would have liked was made to taste terrible.

It sounds like typical case of classical conditioning. Wonder if his mother's maiden name is Pavlov
I know someone who is crazy about sweet food like that, though. puts sugar in eveeerrryyything. It sounds so messed up (and unhealthy) to me
