Heres a list of the specs for a Gamecube thanks to Cnet Channel.

Features
Dimensions (WxDxH): 15 cm x 16 cm x 11 cm
Audio Output: Stereo
Expansion Slots Total: 2 ( 2 ) x memory, 3 expansion slot
Max. Resolution: 32-bit color
Processor: 1 x IBM PowerPC "Gekko" 485 MHz
Video Output: ATI Flipper - 64-bit - 2D/3D graphics acceleration
Connections
1 x GameCube AV output ( GameCube digital AV connector ), 1 x GameCube AV output ( GameCube analog AV output ), 4 x game controller
Apparantly some people think this is better than a Ps2. If I remember correctly a Ps2 has a Processor that goes over 1.2 Ghz. And I damn well know Microsoft won't put a processor under 1.5Ghz in any of their game systems. Sorry Gamecube your just behind on the times.

Um... actually ps2 only has a 300mhz processor. Look:

Anyway, console wars are silly. Just buy all of them.
edit: For the sake of consistency, here's CNET's spec page on ps2 - it says it has a 294.9 processor.

Where did you get 1.2 ghz, Cassik?
Oh, and Xbox only has a 733mhz processor, not 1.5 gig. Hmm.

Your link is an unsupported site your link is invalid, on the other link it says nothing of the correct processor speed and that is the wrong Cnet sorry dude, try again. I used Cnet Channel. 300 Mhz thats why my friends Ps2 runs faster than my 933Mhz Processor computer when he has it running in PC mode? Your only really good thing posted for the Ps2 is the Video Card which is twice that of the Gamecube. Thanks for sharing that. On another topic Gamecube sales drop to 15 dollars on Ebay while Ps2 still stands at a solid 120 dollars, I wonder which system is better compared on sales?Blackbow33 wrote:Um... actually ps2 only has a 300mhz processor. First, show me where you're getting that... I've never heard that before. Here's another link; this one for Xbox. Where does it say 1.5ghz?

Second, I'm not a "dude."
Third, cnet channel owns the cnet site I was on. It's the same company.
Fourth, I'm not trying to convince you one is better than the other; I really don't care, since I own all of them. I'm just surprised at your numbers.

Fine I may be wrong with Xbox but it still has higher specs than that of the gamecube, Which is unbelievably low. I still don't believe your sources for Ps2 I know it is faster and more capable than a Gamecube due to the fact it can do so much more. On the fact of calling you dude, i'm sorry I just do that sometimes, it's called my upbringing.Blackbow33 wrote:First, show me where you're getting that... I've never heard that before. Gah... will you believe Gamespot then? Here's their spec page for ps2, which lists it's processor clock speed at 300mhz. Here ya go (click on the "Specs" tab if it doesn't bring it up right away):Cassik wrote:I still don't believe your sources for Ps2 I know it is faster and more capable than a Gamecube due to the fact it can do so much more.

Let me know what you think. Anyway, it's not just about the speed; it's the what the developers do with it. Gameplay is what counts.
Damn straight gameplay is what really counts. Gamecube is a party machine (When I mean party I mean 4 people party all in the same room yelling and screaming at each other when they get thrown out of the ring), Xbox is a Massive Multiplayer machine (I love Xbox live), And Ps2 is an RPG machine (I can't wait for FFXII).Blackbow33 wrote:Gah... will you believe Gamespot then? Give me a nice example. The GC is still superior technologially in everything else really.Cassik wrote:Umm the Graphics engine on the gamecube is half that of the Ps2 I don't see how Gamecube is better than that? 64Mb to 128Mb? Hmmm I dunno. *Goes away for the night to play Socom 2 U.S. Navy Seals online on his friends borrowed Ps2*Kafei wrote:So then? The GC still PWNS the PS2.
