Floor 100, 200 in the mine?

I recently started replaying my HM:SI game and I am in winter of my first year and I am wondering something about the mine. I have 3 green wonderfuls two for my hoe and one for my hammer and am planning on using the information in the winter wonderfuls thread to get another green, plus if I am patient enough another yellow and two oranges. My question is: is there a way to get through floors 100 and 200 in the mine with just the basic watering can. Will saving on the 100th floor then trying 5 spots for the stairs then reloading and trying again eventually let me go lower if my mining points are high enough? Or would I have to save on the 99th floor go down and try and reload. Any information would be appreciated.
