Time in the Mine

I am trying to figure out exactly how time passes in the mine. My personal observations have been that 10 minutes pass about every 3 floors? Any information whether it be simple confirmation or outright contradiction would be appreciated?

It's roughly that, 10 minutes each 3 floors. But times passes faster if you fall through holes.

About ten minutes every three floors.

Time flows somewhat faster when you fall in holes, though.

I once fell in a hole worth 4 floors and twenty minutes passed.

Thanks for the confirmation, it's always nice to have even if I am not happy with the truth. I just played HMDS for a bit and find I miss the falling 10-100 floors for 1 stamina per floor. Then again things like the billion G glitch and the harvest casino prizes cheapened the game far too much.

Not to mention, didnt HMDS have like 65,535 floors or was that FoMT? I cant imagine who thought having so many floors would be worthwhile...

While we are talking about mining, I have a word of caution, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REACH B255 UNTIL YOU HAVE MET THE HARVEST GODDESS. I just found out that the wonderful at the end of the tunnel would be denied to me because I didnt "know" whose cheery voice was egging me on. Honestly, they ought you have you able to guess, as any long time HM fan would know...

..and then I found 8000G. (True story, it was buried in the floor of B255.)

Update: I then went on to win the mining contest the following day with 23.5 dot (B) mystrile ore...where I won a purple

wonder. But with two oranges on my hammer, I had found 2 pink diamonds and 2 alexandrite for a total of 12 rare gems in all. When I checked my balance sheet after the mining contest, I had pocketed a cool 75000 on my B255 expedition, a nice consolation prize for not having earned the wonderful at the end.

And another thing, what causes the color change of alexandrite in the game? When I mined it, it was dark red; when I put it in the shipping bin, it was olive green.

I didn't know about needing to know about the Harvest Goddess. So thanks for the word of caution. I have green wonderfuls in my hammer and my hoe so I should be able to make it down that far. I also thought of another question, is it littering to use the trash button in the inventory screen?
I figure I can gaurantee that I can make it to the bottom by clearing out every floor but I will need to trash some gems to do it, so if someone knows could they please let me know.

Nope. The trash can is actually a trash can.

No littering. No FP drop.

I believe it's just a programming error, or something like that. It doesn't matter the color, the shipping price is the same.

It's supposed to mimic real alexandrite, which changes colours in different light. The same happens in other harvest moon games that you can aquire alexandrite in.

But it's good to know this happens in real life. I had no idea.
