All of what Kam said.

Sure, it looks a little off since it's 3D, but as long as the character portraits are good, I can deal with the rest.
Everything these people said.
And the heads
do look kind of big, but I can deal with it, since the game seems fun.

Maybe nature was migrating away from the seriousness (sorta) of their previous graphics. Most of the fan base is in their teens and older, so they are probably trying to reach a younger audience with cutie graphics.

To be honest, I don't see how the graphics are any cutesier than previous handheld titles. Or even console titles for that matter, with the exception of the Playstation games like Save the Homeland. But that was really the only exception. AP had some very detailed facial textures and people would complain about that too. And some games had less cartoony animals, but again, only a few. The original SNES game was so cartoony that the pregnant cows would practically roll around.
The grass color doesn't bug me too much but I don't have the brightness settings on high that often (not to mention most of the grass in my town is covered with trees, buildings or pavement).
Though with the brightness really low, it's harder to see the textures of skin and stuff. It makes my farmer look like she only has eyes and mouth, especially with the pale skin, her nose looks almost invisible unless the brightness is at least 3 (for reference I normally have it on 1).
But overall everything looks fine to me...
And I think part of the "lack of chest" on the female characters is because of the crossdressing feature (though there are chest shadows on the girl clothes), and the graphics are so small anyway it could look just as weird to have big bumps on that area. All the IoH-ToTT era DS characters were super flat and large-headed too. Actually yeah, aside from StH stuff ALL HM characters have very large heads, usually no more than 3 heads tall proportions. MM was almost 2 heads tall for the characters.

I sorta expect the cartoony look for HM. It's what makes it it to me >.>;
/rolling pregnant cows?
/........ sound really cute :'D
I always play my 3DS at a 3 setting. It's too dim if it's higher or to dark if it's lower. From what screens I've seen, personally, I like the colors. I just don't like how big the crops are in proportion to sprite size, but it's something I can live with.
All in all, it's just HM to me :'D

Rolling pregnant cows? Sounds... interesting. I'm glad that this time we can breed our animals. I wonder if we will have baby alpaca and llama?

I like the graphics alright. I'm definitely going to play with the 3D on, and that always makes things look a little better anyway.

I don't mind it too much. It's not like they look completely horrible anyways. Besides, the game play is more important to me than the graphics in any game. This is probably proven in MM than any other HM game to me. I hated, and I mean hated, the graphics in that game. I know a lot of people liked the Chibi animation, but it just wasn't my cup of tea. However, the game play and plot were so good, I came back and I believe I've played it a good 4 times. I'm not saying the graphics in this are flawless or even good, I'm just saying that to me, the actual gameplay is what should really be important.

With MM I didn't like how some of the characters looked (the farmer girl especially) but they weren't bad designs. I am really into stuff like good character design, stylized anatomy, animation etc. so I admit, I am much touchier about that stuff. I'm probably being a bit snobby haha. And I do agree that the gameplay is more important than anything else. I cringe a bit looking at the screenshots, but if you guys say it doesn't bother you then I believe you.
I'm still really looking forward to it--that huge dialog pool has be SUPER excited to play. I'm sure I'll just make faces for the first hour and then get over myself and enjoy the game :p
Also those rolling cows sound ADORABLE. I think it'd be pretty cute if your animals got super fat during pregnancy. I guess that would be a bit inconsistent when the female character stayed skinny as a rail though ahaha

Am I the only one who finds the eating scene annoying when they sway side to side.

Oh my, I won't forget how they were moving. Especially the farmer girl. I'm wondering why they were reeling so much when they were scared/surprised? XD But their slow and funny moving was even relaxing to watch :]

I'm all right with the graphics. I just hate the fact that the crops are gigantic.

Yeah but if they were regularly sized some would be so small you would barely see it! Like a turnip or chamomile, if they aren't enlarged and widened, then the would be little slivers on the screen! Besides, i know it was said before, but they have always been large, we will all just have to get used to it.

I find the giant crops humorous actually. This might be because I don't take anything too seriously, but I think that the giant crops are funny. I understand why they did it, and yeah, it looks rediculous, but it's a video game people. Things are obviously not going to be fit to scale. Could they have made it at least a bit more realistic? Yes, but what's the fun in that? If you can make a turnip the size of a person, do it. More power to you.

I don't really have a problem with the graphics. A lot of HM games have characters with big heads. I always found HM games that pioneered to a new system a little awkward with their designs, but I think that's because they're still testing the waters. Besides, the graphics end up growing on you after a while. I like the bright colours, they're very attention grabbing, to me.
