As with every HM game there are always things you discover while playing that literally make you facepalm, so I'm asking you guys for some quick tips on what to do and the best ways to make monnies
Need some pointers!

Okay so, I've ordered this game (Sunshine island) last week since I've become a tad bored of TToTT! It should arrive tomorrow :DD!

I always make nice money with animal products (milk, wool butter). Beginnings are always hard. First try to grow some turnips. Later build the barn and a coop. You will get the first chicken and cow gratis. You can receive more milk and wool, if you upgrade your milker and clippers with orange wonderful.
If it isn't enough, you may unblock the vulcano island and try to search for some gems. Upgrade your hammer with orange wonderfuls. Mining is hard in this game because of the lava bubbles and experience levels. You also need lots of food to not faint as well.

You can raise islands in whatever order you want, but, despite how cheap it is, I suggest you not raise Link Island first. You'll need it eventually, but it isn't very worthy in the beginning and it's better to just save your sunstones for an island that can make you profit off of or unlock more people/activities.
I suggest talking to everyone once a day everyday before Spring 10th comes around. That way when you're able to start collecting sunstones, you can start right away on getting some sunstones from the villagers.

In this game you need to start with foraging and crops. Your first two seeds are turnips and potatoes. You will need to give some of the crops to the two restaurant owners to gain recipes and will be able to cook them when you can afford a refrigerator which will unlock your kitchen. If you grow enough crops you will unlock other seeds which are worth more money.
When you can afford to build a coop and barn Mirabelle (the animal shop owner) will give you a chick and a calf (as stated above). You can use the eggs from the first chick to incubate (you need to have Gannon the carpenter build one he will also build the coop and the barn) and when the eggs hatch in the incubator you can build your entire flock without buying anything other than the silky chick and chicken feed.
The islands referred to are gained by finding and receiving sunstones from the villagers as you befriend them.
Volcano Island is the mine in this game. There is 255 floors which have ore stones. Each floor has a different collection of gems and can lead to a lot of money as you increase you mining degree and can go deeper into the mine.
You will need to buy a fishing rod from Gannon to fish. You can ship the fish for money or give the small fish to villagers as gifts.
Be aware that while you will have pets, they are not working animals as in TOTT. There is a horse, cat and dog festival but you can't ride the horse and the cat and dog just hang out around the farm. You move the chickens, cows and sheep outside and back inside at night. You will need to grow fodder or provide fodder (Mirabelle food for all the animals every day no random inventory) for the sheep and cows.
