How do I catch a Large or Medium fish

Can you please help me I don't know how since you can't equip Wonderful's onto your first rod please help!

There only is one kind of fishing rod and you cannot equip it with Wonderfuls at any time.
In the beginning of the game, you will only be able to catch small fish and junk, but when you gain more fishing points, you'll be able to catch larger fish.
Here's where you will be able to find how to earn fishing points.

You need to FISH, FISH, FISH. This game works on a degree system. You need to get your fishing degree high enough so you will begin to catch medium fish.
You need to fish and then ship the fish you catch (one at at time into the shipping box due to the stack glitch).
You need to get about 5,000 points before you start to catch medium fish.
If you fish in different locations your will catch more new fish, which are worth more degree points (for each new fish you catch you will get 15 points).

You can give both of them small fish. Lanna's favorite dish is actually Yam Pudding.
If you give them a small fish everyday their hearts will rise. You don't need the medium and large fish. If you fish enough to give them a gift of a small fish every day you may even have a medium fish in time for Denny's birthday so you can fix Sashimi (his favorite gift)
