The only HM games I know of (there may be more) that alter your child's appearance/personality depending on who you marry are AWL, AnWL, AWL:SE, DS, DS Cute, ToT and AP.
In all other HM games (where you can have a child), your child's appearance and personality are fixed.
The gender of your child is randomly set at marriage, yes. But their appearance (either boy or girl) and personality will be the same, no matter who you marry.
