Why are these turnips bigger than you?

So they can feed more people? Seriously, just look at those things! One of them could feed an entire third-world village for a week. *slapped*

But I like the giant crops. I think it's funny/cute, carrying around a gigantic turnip above your head.

Yeah. It's hyserical, I loved how funny it was in MM.
Also, there are pictures of somebody handing fodder to Neil...
and it could suffocate the poor guy!

They are unrealistically big, but that almost doesn't matter, and besides, it is hilarious!

For anyone who thinks these are TOO big:
These aren't normal turnips, these are actually giant turnips that are a bit more rare (according to Natsume on their FB)

Lol, they are seriously big. The large crops look rather silly IMHO, but honestly that's the only issue I have with this game so far. ^^

I think they may of meant to say that there are crops that are larger. That screen shot depicts the normal size of a Turnip. For example:

And I thought the Rune Factory 4 produce was large!

Are there certain conditions to increase the chance of growing large or giant crops? Or are they just random?

The higher the star rank of your seeds, the higher the chance you'll get a larger crop. A giant-size crop can't occur until you're using seeds that are at least 3 stars.

I'm in spring season now, so I'll see if I can get large and giant Turnips to trigger.

That's awesome to know. How more money can you make for a large or a huge crop? (x2 or x3 the profits?) And do they effect the dishes you make from them or are they just considered average 3-4-5 star crops?

On topic: I actually like the crop size, myself.
