Just got the 3DS version in the mail. It looks and plays great; as far as I can tell, there are no obvious glitches. Well done, Rising Star!

I suppose waiting out on importing due to the DS's region freeness for once held merit, seeing as Rising Star apparently fixed the freezing glitches I've heard about and whatnot! It only Natsume were half as competent and willing with fixing glitches, aha ha. ^^;

I am pretty sure Natsume is the one who initially made the TOTT DS game into a 3DS game. It's a lot easier to fix someone elses mistakes than to initially create something with absolutely nothing wrong with it. Not to mention the huge time difference between the two and I think Natsume has been doing a damn well job at getting games out in a timely fashion.
This is coming from a person who goooot the glitched version.

I was actually speaking as to some previous Harvest Moons with glitches that could have been remedied, just as one example, the missing child glitch that Animal Parade had. Those from Natsume over customer service reporting that since it was not a glitch that affected everyone, unlike the Calvin glitch from ToT, they didn't feel as though it was necessary to fix it. It's pretty widespread, sadly, and rather than the children purely being cosmetic in this game, they did serve a purpose with the Child Days and New Game+. That and it is rather saddening to not be able to experience the children's growing up if they do vanish, as the last time that was available was in AWL.
I understand the point you presented though, entirely valid.

Ah I quit Animal Parade before having children but I'd be upset if my child had dissappeared.
And I understand where you are coming from too, but I wouldn't call them incompetent, they are pushing out the games really fast.
If they would slow down I think they would do a much better job but they may feel pressured by everyone nagging them about getting games out.
I think I am just going to buy the DS version since my American 3DS version is glitched to the point that I can't play it without frustration.

Mm, I know that they're doing an alright job given the time constraints, and the missing child glitch was apparently in the other regions as well. It's most probably due to your own thoughts, that they are quite pressured to release them quicker and thus are a bit more prone to miss certain things and instead make up for it with more releases. The nagging I am aware of, as I have heard of their... I wouldn't call them outbursts, but posts on facebook which sort of show their dismay at the fanbase asking certain things of them that tear them in two directions.
Anyhow, I've already got access to the DS version, so I'm set. A shame to not experience it on the 3DS, but I doubt the differences were all that major 3D wise. A bit of a wider screen however would have been nice.

Maybe they could copy the fixes from the EU version to the US version? Because I'm getting tired of restarting days because everything froze while exploring the mountain. I mean, once a game month, okay, but three times per week, and sometimes I have to redo the day 3-4 times in a row!!
And the extra petting game in the 3DS version is very usefull to get your animal friendshil levels up fast. On spring 19 of the first year, my cow was already at 5/10 hearts!

Thanks for that PixieLove I didn't expect a reply so quickly

. The thing that now worries me is "We have done our best to fix any known issues" - it sounds very vague considering that the freezing issue seems to be the main issue for people, especially considering it's a harvest moon game. I may start a new thread on this. Luckily I have about four weeks on my side because I'm planning to buy a 3ds xl so I will wait and see before I buy the 3ds version of the game.

I emailed Rising Star awhile ago to ask why it took so long for them to release games, I received this.
"The North American version of this game will only contain the English language however our European version also contains other languages on the same game card like French and German. It can take months to translate such a large word count, then we must proof read the text and once it is inserted inside the game it is then tested (which also takes months) to make sure the text is in the right place, not spilling over, causing errors in the program. For example German sentences are often longer than English, so we have to make sure it fits.
It also has to be tested to make sure the game itself works, that the internet features are set up and work correctly. Bugs that were present in the North American version were also fixed to make sure that we have the most clean build of all versions. We appreciate this takes a long time and we thank you for your patience."
Thankfully we have it now, I bought it awhile ago off eBay though. It seems when A New Beginning is released in America I'll just have to sit back and wait. ANB is a lot larger and there's so much more to translate I'll probably have to wait a year after it's released in PAL regions.
