So, I plan on making it to the bottom of the mine sometime soon. The food I'm using as a stamina filler is Steamed Egg Custard. Each one fills up +36 stamina. I currently have 49 of them.
To reach floor 255, how many Steamed Egg Custards would be a safe amount to bring?

Aah, I've never been to the bottom of the mine, but I'd say 99/99+ just to be safe. :[

The mine is preeetty long.

Add a fish (small or medium, large adds fullness but not stamina) to your steamed custard. You should have at least 50 but I take whatever I can make out of all of my mushrooms. If you don't have enough eggs or mushrooms, baked yams are also good for mining 99 of them is what I take.

The actual number of restoratives will depend on what wonderfuls you have. If you have 6 green wonderfuls and put two in each tool (hammer, watering can and hoe) you will use no stamina at all unless you fall through a pitfall. You need to take only enough food to take care of your recovery if you fall through five floors with a pitfall. Too many snacks and you will have to make choices of what to discard when you get to the bottom floors. You bag will be bursting at the seams and you will want to get rid of your snacks before you get to that point.

Two yellow wonderfuls in your watering can will enable you to water the lava bubbles with one blast of water

You can waste stamina points even with lots of green wonderfools attached to the tools, if you keep playing after 8 or 10pm. I believe it's the latter. So, start early! And it's better to use the stairs, so time will move slower then using the holes.

I think it's after 10 that the stamina is used faster.

I would bring as many steamed egg custard as you can make. The number will be limited by the number of mushrooms you can come up with.

I made most of my trips in the Winter so I had all of my yams. Baked Yams have less stamina, so a stack of 99 got quickly used up in the first hundred floors and then I used my steamed egg custard for the rest of the floors.

Make your first trip and adjust your snacks based on how fast you find the stairs and if you have four orange wonderfuls installed in your hammer. You will want to clear one of your stacks so you can fit everything in your sack and still have room for the prize on 255. The Harvest Goddess's wonderful. Remember 250 has all of the types of gems,

Also, you may need more if you intend to collect something like orichalcum on floors 51-99. You will quickly get a feel for how fast you will use stamina. Try not to use pitfalls until you have made it to the bottom once. That will eat up your stamina.
