I'm feeling the same why. As Neil's fanbase grows I'm liking him less and less. Sometime I found the fans of the unpopular ones lucky, they don't have to share the characters with million of others. At some point, his personality type is getting old and repetitive.
Which reminds of Hakuoki, lot's of people don't like Hijikata at all so I count myself lucky. I don't have to share to million other of fangirls. Come to think of it, Hijikata reminds of Allen. Maybe that's the reason why Allen appeals to me the most.
I might consider marrying Soseki, if he overthrow my first decision in regards with Allen.
It's nice to know I'm not the only one. Although, I'm kinda hypocritical about that. When a character gets too much fans, it starts to annoy me and makes me like him/her less, but if I see that one of my favorites has almost no fanbase, I start defending him/her trying to make everyone like that character.
