It's the second time in a row we've gotten past marriage candidates showing up again as marriage candidates again and I wonder if Marvelous is going to continue this into future Harvest Moon titles. I don't mind it, but maybe the honor of becoming a marriage candidate again should go to some marriage candidates we haven't seen in a while. Lets face it, Witch has been used far too much as a marriage candidate (5 games if you count DSC), maybe she should be a villager for a change. I wouldn't mind Lumina, Romana and Sebastian suddenly showing up with Lumina as a marriage candidate again. Romana's wealthy, she could have a vacation cottage somewhere. Or maybe Keira and Leia. They've only been seen in two games and their back stories could be developed more (Leia's mom anyone?). Maybe Kappa can show up more? I don't know. There's so many possibilities. What do you guys think?

I agree. I'd like to see older candidates, and villagers. The witch has shown up quite a bunch, and I could use a bit of replacements, since it seems like they are coming back in each game.

I wouldn't mind to see FoMT/AWL characters again.

Well the Witch has become a popular candidate since DS, so Marvelous gives us to her because people like her. I mean look around the forum, for the 5 times she has been up for marriage, lots of people marry her, and I for one am one of them. I do love Keria and Leia just as much, but the Witch has put up the test of time, and has become one of the series prized character. Plus since she is the counterpart for the Goddess of course she is going to come up in more and more games with her. As for the bachelors, they don't have that one "classic" character on their side like the Goddess and the Witch. So I think the boys are more flexible. It's nice to see variety, but I also like the comfort of some of the older characters.

I agree, I wanna see the older characters as bachelors/ettes and just as villagers in general! I wanna see a wedding with Sebastian and Romona!!! And date Lumina again! Or see Chris studying the landscape, was he the first ever black person in a Harvest Moon game?

It's not that I'm tired of WP, but we like other characters too! What about Witchkins? We only see her in Sunshine Islands, and she's great and cute! And we know WP is a popular character, but I miss all the great characters from before ANB! (And very few of them are from ToTT and GrB, especially GrB, which while I love it, it was sort of the black sheep of the HM series... Sorry Sherry Honey!)

If any bachelor is going to make a sudden reappearance in an upcoming game, it's gotta be the Wizard. I mean, come on! The guys get the Harvest Goddess and Witch Princess in practically every game as special bachelorettes, why can't the girls get super-awesome reocurring bachelors?

Well then if you bring the Wizard, Marvelous would also probably bring back the Harvest King. This is good for the girls in a way, but then some people would moan that it's just lik AP. I would like to see the Wizard back, I mean he is just as popular as the Witch, and he needs a good makeover from when we last saw him. But then again, if we saw those two in a couple more games, people would grow tired of them and want more. *shrugs*

Even if they were space out people would get bored. When the FoMT girls were brought back in HM:DS, people were complaining that they have seen them so much.

I don't mind the Witch, Goddess, Wizard, Harvest King coming back. They work no matter where you put them, and they are always interesting enough to marry. Put Lumina or another "regular" candidate in a newer game like LoB, and making them a candidate would just make me feel that Marvelous was being lazy. Those characters made a splash in their respective games, but not enough to be seen over and over again. That's just me though.

Alright, I understand that... And I agree. But at least having them as characters, or maybe like in SI, have them be vacationing, like Lumina and Rock would come with a kid with them during the summer or spring! And Karen and Rick with a child! Elliot and his girl who's name escapes me and a child! It would be nice to see them and how they have changed and grown after so long!

And I agree with you that we can have cameos. I wouldn't mind that at all, and your right it would be wonderful to see what they turned into.
It was just that this topic is about past candidates returning as marriage candidates in future games, and that's what I was arguing about. I hope their is no hard feelings :P

No, there aren't and you were right, past candindates would be wierd... But what about children all grown up? I would marry Witchkins! And Kate or Hugh! And they could talk about he old protag like dirk did in ToTT

I think this idea of cameos would be great. Something like a cooking contest, I want to see Karen again trying her best at cooking. The current game only has blank villiagers who come for the competitions. It would be better if it was characters from other games.

Then again maybe that would be too much design programming needed for just a short cameo and it's not worth it. Maybe if a new game gets made for the Wii and it has more memory they can do this.

You get hints of other characters from other games through the letters. Good old Taro from Island of Happiness sometimes sends you a letter.

How would Taro even know the MC? He's such a bald creep! But he is really nice too!

Actually I love the idea and I've been thinking about it a lot lately. Shy and kind May, A bit rude but mature and understanding at heart Kate, tsundere Cheryl a sworn enemy of Elisa... one of the twins from GrB and Witchkin! Bachelors? Boys from their games! And of course with the rival system back! Like Hugh x Kate, Charlie x Elisa, Rahi x Cheryl...

These couples would be really cute to see, HOWEVER! I wouldn't like to see them in one game. I just think one couple should come back. I would really like to see Charlie and Elisa though... they are my favourites!

Oh you people just don't understand how much I want Keria to come back.
She's literally my most favorite bachelorette of all the HM games.
If I ever saw her in future games, I'd be SO happy. <3

And while I agree the WP is overused, she's still pretty cool you must admit? I like her as a marriage candidate, but we do need someone else, I suppose.
Also, definitely down w/ the idea of Lumina coming back as well. She's also one of my favs
