I don't think I'll want pets either if the cutscene is that annoying. D: I mean 7am....yeah I'll most likely be on my farm. -.-; It sucks because I wanted a dog and a cat at least. Can you sell pets back when you buy them or is it like ToTT where you're stuck with them forever?

Just use the pets, you get used to running into your house at 6:59 game time and running out at 7:01 and the cut scene is gone. Either that or go foraging or fishing by the river to pass the time.

The bell works really well but you have to ring it at about 7am if you want the animals to eat the food you've left in the barn. You have to return them indoors though if you go on holiday as no-one will return them and they will spend the night outside, increasing their stress.

You can sell the pets if you don't like them.

I have pets, but they're mostly for decoration.

Remember that you have to set their commands in their status screen otherwise they won't do anything. By default they won't do anything. I guess if you were planning on going somewhere like on a vacation, you could make them herd the animals the day before maybe? And then change it back.

I prefer to use the animal bell to let my animals out though. I make them eat the grass outside. Too lazy to go in and out of the barns and have to cut/refill constantly, and grass is really cheap and easy to grow.

Oh so if you make it so they do nothing no cut scene can occur right? xD

Also it's cool that you can sell them.

Pets don't bring money at all that I am aware of.

Emily means if you sell your pet with a higher friendship will it be bought for more.

Ex: She wants to know if a 100FP dog is worth more than a 0FP dog.

Either get the Animal Bell blueprint by giving Neil gifts (not a hand bell, but an outdoor ring-and-they-all-exit bell) or buy pets from Rod and assign them to work on managing the animals. With the pets though, if you are on your farm at 7am then you are forced to watch the pet herding cut scene. Every day at 7am and again at 5pm. Day after day.

Putting the animals outdoors lowers their stress and helps to increase friendship hearts.
Oh thank goodness. It's been so annoying pushing the cows in and out. The player moves so slow, and sometimes the cows won't go the way you want them to. I'm excited to assign my pets work. Can't wait for Rod to come to town.

My cows haven't gotten stressed from staying out all night. I always leave them out, unless there's going to be rain. My chickens will get stressed though.

Later HM games (ToTT and GB) have your animals gain stress from being outside from being left outside, but now animals can be let outside during snowy weather (except for chickens in GB)

AP and ToT animals automatically heard themselves back inside the barn after you go to bed, so they don't get stressed (I think, all I remembered from ToT was I left my animals outside and they were back inside my barn the next day. Don't take my word for it.)

In your storage container? Well, 99 per stack and I think the container can hold like 30 stacks or something. I am not sure if you can have multiple containers though. Either way, more than you would ever need to store.

so... wait. do you have to feed your pets? Like in TOTT and GB?

Yeah you need to feed your pets. You buy the food from Rod and you can build a pet food storage counter that tells you how much you have left.

The pets do get stressed if you don't feed them as I have a habit to forget since they don't give me anything from it. I'm not sure what happens when they reach the limit to stress.

I think the grass is limited to your item container which is only one and at gold can hold 300 stacks of items. So if you were crazy about grass you could hold 300 stacks of 99 grass. (I think you'd have a nut loose personally if you did that.)

Your rucksack maximum is 80 at full upgrade. I carry grass around with me as it's a cheap gift for Neil and you can refill the feeders quicker.

How does time work in this game? Does 1 real second = 1 in-game minute?

I absolutely detest slow moving HM games.
