upgrades for tools

How do you update your tools and do we get the tools free at the beginning of the game... like the other games???

Of course you start with tools. More advanced ones such as sheep clippers require purchasing but basic tools are available from the get-go. Upgrading is done via blueprints. Get them from Iroha (is her english name different?) by giving gifts. She is also a dateable girl so you can kill 2 birds with one stone if you want to date her.

Once you have the blueprints you just need to get the materials to build it. You can have multiple copies of each tool if you want.

Also of note, I have not found any way to get beyond level 2 (upgraded once - bronze/copper/whatever its called) without opening up the mine. There MIGHT be a way but I don't think you can get silver any other way early on. More advanced players may be able to correct me.
