Neverending staircase is that where the door with the Star on is and says you need 50 stars to open this door
I remember a trick in the 64 version where you would shoot yourself through the stain glass window of Peach at the very top of the castle and that would lead to Bowsers room. Also I do remember so many glitches in the 64 version that you could jump through walls and Staircases. All in all I would say Mario 64 isn't that great of a game.
