Title says it all

I've unlocked the Volcano Islands and I want to make sure that I can effectively mine there... However, I tried looking around for a good guide or walkthrough but there was no avail. Can anyone suggest any good tips on starting up? and thanks again in advance!

I don't really like to mine, but it's a good thing to always bring lots of food to the mine. Pitfalls can quickly make you pass out.
Always watch out your stamina and fullness.

For me personally, I waited until winter to get serious about mining. I used the save and reload trick to get two green wonderfuls for my hoe and then I got a couple orange wonderfuls for my hammer and I just concentrate between floors 25, and 50-74. I collect as much orcalcum (have no idea how to spell that) as I can and then the mythic stones on 50 are great for getting money since a D grade stone is worth 2000 and then floors 51-74 have lots of gems, and orcalcum. There are also tons of coins if you hoe on floor 25. I have three orange wonderfuls on my hammer and I usually make about 100000 per visit to the mines. I haven't bothered going beyond level 75 for now. The food I take with me is mostly fried eggs and hot chocolate. Chickens and cows are a great support system for mining.

If you mine a few times each level you tend to open up the next level. It didn't take me long to have lvls 51-75 open. At this point I don't know how far I can go down in the mine but I suspect I can go the whole way down, I just haven't tried yet. I've got to wait for the opportune moment when the wonderful I want is available.

Bring tons of food, avoid pitfalls, etc. The Gelatin in the mine us also a 300+ point gift for some people

the easiest stamina supplier to make for mining is the spa boiled egg, so before going, be sure to make lots and lots of those, which should be fairly easy if you have an abundance of chickens.

My tips:

•Bring lots of food. Herbs are useful and easy to get, but cooked items work magic.

•If you are mining for ores to sell, try walking on the very outside of the mine, and mine from the edge. This is very useful, to me.

•Upgrade your stamina bar.
