I noticed that when you win the cow festival, you have the choice to choose another cow as your prize. I did so, and the style of the cow was just so different from the default cows. Can anyone explain the background behind this?
It's the design of cows from previous HM games. Other than looks, it's exactly the same as the normal cows. You can only get this special cow from winning the competition.
Ah, I see. Thanks for explaining. I was wondering if it was the "beta" cow or something put in as an easter egg. Now it makes sense. If the cow has a calf, will that calf also be in that style?
The old cow from previous games looks out of place. Also does anyone know if Miracle Potions make a return in this game since they were absent in Harvest Moon: A Tale of Two Towns?

The old cow definitely looks out of place. But it exudes such a cute feeling! The way it moves is adorable. I love when it sits.
Impregnating a cow is similar to AWL in that Neil (like Takakura) will introduce your cow to another cow (I think... ha, I don't remember. But you don't give your cow the miracle potion.) What I don't like about the pregnant cow system in this game is you can't pet your cow or anything. All you can do is leave fodder in the barn so that it is fed. I can't recall if the hearts are lowered during this stage because of lack of interaction. I'm curious about this.
