As anxious as I am for ANB, I'm a little disappointed with how my children will look. I finally get the chance to change my skin color, but my child will be the "standard" complexion.
What if I want to marry Amir or Celka? D8 It'll look so weird to see two dark skinned characters raising a - pardon the phrasing - white child. 8I Kinda wish they programmed the children to the bachelors like in the console versions. ( i.e. Your children with Julius having his hair/eye color )
...then again, there's a data difference between discs and cartridges. = 3 =

If that's the case, then it's really unfortunate. With a game like ANB that allows such an expansive customization, you would think that they'd release it for the Wii. I mean, yeah, you wanna get some HM titles out for the 3DS, but add the option for darker skin and then giving you the "standard" child seems like bad planning. :c Especially since I'm sure they're aware of the data limitations on the 3DS cartridges.
Well, I'm happy to finally have a good new HM handheld game. I don't own a Wii. I don't think it should've been made for the Wii, as you already have AP.
Rock never looked like his parents in AWL. You could think of the child as adopted. I know it's unfortunate, but I don't think it calls for saying the game should've been made for the Wii.

The difference between AP and ANB is the fact that there are more customization options such as hair color, hair styles, etc for ANB. In AP, it's limited to clothing.
I feel that it would have been better for the Wii because discs allow for more data than DS/3DS cartridges. If ANB was made for the Wii, there could have been a better chance for my future child to share a skin color with me. I would rather not think of the child that I "carried" ( despite never showing ) to just be considered adopted. = x=;

I still think they could've implemented a genetics system, at least to the extent that there is a different model depending on the bachelor or bachelorette married to. I would be crushed if this game were for the Wii just over that minor feature. After all, they made models for competing villagers from other villages in the festivals, they could've done a basic recoloring of models for children. It was probably just due to deadlines, not space.Kuro Ningyou wrote:The difference between AP and ANB is the fact that there are more customization options such as hair color, hair styles, etc for ANB. Well, the idea of a genetics system would be pointless considering you can change certain attributes (skin tone and eye color, I believe) mid-game (via Witch Princess).
Best bet would've been to just have the kids look like the spouse. Buuut, whatever.
Now why Marvelous didn't do this? Who knows. Maybe the skin color change was a last minute add in (or ran out of time), maybe they didn't have enough room (although I doubt this), maybe they just didn't want to; who knows.
It is disappointing, but look at the bright side; genetics irl is known to pop out weird combinations from somebody's past ancestors...so just imagine that little Bobby/Suzy got it from great grandpa so-and-so!

THIS is why I prefer them making HM games for consoles and NOT handhelds.Kuro Ningyou wrote:What if I want to marry Amir or Celka? I don't really like handhelds, it's like reading a book, feels weird to read at a table but hard to get in a comfortable position with the book, and after awhile your neck and back start hurting like hell
In my opinion, if they made ANB for console they probably would have been able to fit in the customized children.
Maybe, just MAYBE, when the Wii U comes out they'll make one for it and have all the features in ANB plus the ones that they couldn't add and that we wanted in the game
I think the whole ability to change your hair and eye clour would affect the genetics as already said. Which is why I thought they could have copied the spouse's details and had like a mini Rod or mini Tina. That would have been adorable.
Maybe it was lazy programming as the 3DS does have a lot of room on the card for lots of features. Or maybe they just ran out of time. It's one of the small downsides of this game but it's not a big matter to me.
I'm still saving up alpaca wool to get the child's bed made. You can never horde enough in this game!

Another downside for this game, I don't mind building things but when I have to build EVERYTHING. That's just goddamn annoying -_-
Why can't I just buy it like normal people? Why can't people also build their own things? if they have the blueprints they can build their own « Puppy Doodoo » >.>
Yeah it's another big downside of the game there are certain items that you need to horde like small stones as you can never have enough of them. You can only buy medium stone bricks and medium wood planks. It's sort of stupid you'd think there would be a way to buy the smaller stuff.
I think it's more unprocessed alpaca wool instead of a wool ball which I have heaps of.
Full list for Child's bed:
Black wood planks X 10
Saffolk wool X 5
Alpaca wool x 10
pink diamond X 1
Honestly the pink diamond is the easiest one out of the list as I hardly ever make anything out of that.

I personally like being able to play my own self-sufficient farm, and having to collect things. It makes up for making money so easily.Ducki wrote:Alpaca Wool for the child's bed?Mz D wrote:I'm still saving up alpaca wool to get the child's bed made. You can never horde enough in this game!

Just a tip, have you tried the wi-fi feature? It becomes a lot easier to not only make money, but collect various wool via other people's livestock.
What I find frustrating is that some items are only available in certain seasons, so there's a lot of waiting in order to complete a quest.
