In Harvest Moon's case, some of the money goes to Nintendo, some goes to the store you bought it at, some goes to Natsume, and the rest goes to Marvelous. That's the general idea, but the money goes through other departments in those 4 companies. Basically, at the end, Marvelous only ends up with, lets say $10 or $5 out of the $35/40 that we paid for a handheld game.
I understand that, but... 100 dollars for a single game!? That's insane. I don't even think those games come with extra accessories that could explain the cost.
If that's the case, then there most be a lot of companies involved with the Wii U. =/ Or there's something we don't know about.
Either way, I'm still hoping it's a mistake.
What games are you referring to? I know when Skyrim came out the collectors edition was around $100 and its understandable, have you seen that statue? Borderlands 2 has two other packaging other than the game, one worth $100 and the other $150. Its not a mistake, games and the accessories that come with the game cost a lot to make. I'm glad prices are only $60 and $40 for new games, they could have been more expensive then they are now, be thankful for the prices they are at now.

I was responding to Lord Banks's post.
I hope not! a HM game on the WiiU I mean, It's SOOO expensive! and games for the WiiU, when i looked it up on gamestop are like $100 at the highest and $60 at the lowest, but there might have been a $40 or $50 game...
WiiU games screen on Gamestop.com
Edit: there is no price currently for the WiiU, so never mind about it being expensive YET, but based on the prices of the games right now, It will likely be around 150 to 200 dollars! And the Wii is $140 new so that seems likely!
Go back and check the link. Granted, there are some Wii U games that are reasonably priced. But look at Pikmen and the Mario game and Ninja Gaiden! $99. I know those prices are not set in stone, but I just don't understand why they would have been posted so high in the first place. That's just plain scary. =O
Seeing as there are some reasonable prices, I hold hope that if an HM Wii U game were to ever be released, it wouldn't be priced to high, but it's still a bit scary.

Did it ever come to anyone that these are just temporary prices? Gamestop doesn't know when or how Nintendo will price things. Has anyone also noticed that its only the Nintendo titles that are priced at $100? Some games are priced at what the Wii games are normally priced at and some are priced on what the Xbox and PS3 games are worth. Nothing is set in stone, so everyone, calm down. Nintendo's not Sony or Microsoft, they're not going to screw everyone over. Nintendo is a pure gaming company and I trust Shigeru Miyamoto. Sony and Microsoft make TVs and computers respectively and right now I only trust one of those companies, but not as much as I trust Nintendo. So everyone, calm down about the games, they are NOT going to be $100, that would bankrupt Nintendo.
Edit: If my post doesn't convince you, look at this article called "Nintendo calls $100 Wii U game prices 'fictitious'".

have to agree with Ronin19.
i think the games will probably average the 40 to fifty quid mark in the uk.
we saw it with the DS>3DS games. most of the ds games are 29.99 while the 3ds games are usualy going for 39.99 so i expect when the conversion comes, it will be 39.99 (wii games) > 49.99 wiiU game i think
while its a bit high, its whats been going on these days with games.
however....when you consider the fact that they are one of the first console makers to allow the use of last gens controlers....(you can use your WiiMotes and WiiFit boards with your WiiU) becasue they felt that the consumer was likely to feel they now (probably) had the worlds most expensive bathroom scales intheir cubbords lol
(the only other ones i know being that you could use your psx controler on your ps2, and your psx mem cards when you played psx games on ps2. and your gamecube controlers and mem cards on the wii)
so we might get lucky. they might be very generous and make the game stay the equivelent of 39.99, simply so they will sell. after all the console is likely to be the expensive part. your buying the console and the screen controler when you buy the package, and i think that seperate screen controlers are going to be much more expensive than a standard wiimote. hence why they kept the compatability. (i think, opinion here lol)
however i realy hope sony does not totaly give up on psp. i have one and so far there isnt a thing i want for vita, but still things i want for my psp. and now i can get the movies realy realy cheap, some as low as 1.99 inmy local cash trade place. im going to make the most of the post vita boom lol.

If you read my post, you would have seen that I said that I knew the prices weren't set in stone.
I was merely responding to something very odd. Don't you find it odd that they were priced like that?
And please, don't tell me to calm down. It irks me. And besides, you don't sound very calm yourself. Although, it is difficult to tell over the internet.
It doesn't matter anyways. I won't be getting a Wii U anytime soon, as I don't have enough money for it at the moment, regardless of how much the games cost.
But, I will be looking forward to getting one. =)

I wasn't just referring to you, there were more people in this thread that were sort of freaking out over it. I am calm when I want to be, but this time I was a little irritated that people were freaking out over $100 games. Wii U's not even out yet, no one should take these things seriously unless Nintendo themselves have stated the prices. If Nintendo did confirm the prices, then yes, I would be mad too, but I put that link there for other people to look at and be calm once again.

Sorry, I picked up on your irritation and responded to it accordingly. I can be a little defensive at times.
Thank you for posting the link. =) I am happy that Nintendo hasn't confirmed the prices, but I do still find it weird that Gamestop would post such high prices for those games.

They did it for preorders. Its like listing ANB's release date as 10/23/12 (NOT TRUE BTW! That was for anyone who saw this and thought this was the release date), Gamestop doesn't know the prices, but they want to make money off of preorders. Think of it as a place holder, the price version. Apology accepted, I can be defensive too.

I have no clue where people are getting the information that games will be 100 dollars. . . According to this article they will have the same price as Wii software at 49.99, which is reasonable. People got really pissed over the 3DS being 249 dollars, I doubt Nintendo would make that same mistake again with over pricing. But still we should wait and see. And if they came out with certain bundles or editions then maybe that would explain the price. Here's the article I read from a few days ago
http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2012/08/ ... -surprise/
I'm curious how much the wiiU will cost though.

I'd say $250-$300 which is reasonable when you think of the Game Pad that comes with it.
