As far as I know, you can't. I've gotten to year 6 and the only animals that show up on the map for whatever reason are your cat and dog, which is extremely annoying when you're trying to herd them back into the barn...

animals aren't supposed to be seen on the map.
the only ones available to see are the cat and dog, as you said.
but it shouldn't be a bother since you're not able to bring them outside the ranch anyways...

Oh that makes sense now - its because you can take the dog and cat off Ranch island.

And yeah I hate that you can't see your other animals on the map when you are on Ranch Island. That would be very helpful.

But the thing I hate most about SI is the stupid signs that I'm forever catching myself on. If it weren't for those this game would be perfect.

In almost all harvest moon games you can't see your animals like cows, sheeps and chickens on the map.
In some, like SI, you can see where is your dog and cat, as it was said.
In another ones, like ToTT, you can only see your horse.
It's a shame that in this game there is no playpen and when you put your animals to graze you have to search them all over the place.

oh gosh i hate it when i have to do that.
and by the time i finally find them all it's already night time :C

im in year 30, starting in year 30 you can seee ALL your animals already, so its more easier to find them when u are in year 30

no matter what year you are on, year 100 even « Harvest Goddess » forbid, you won't be able to see your animals.

It's easier to herd your animals if you build a fence around a small area. You can use branches, stones or the materials to do that. Quite useful, specially if you do that in front of the barn and or coop.

Always when I make a fence, I get back to my farm and see my animals out of the fence. It didn't work for me.

Really? I never saw that in my game. Do you build a closed space? Because if you leave an open space then can scape. That's really weird, though...

Then I suggest you leave your animals inside their barn and coop. They won't get stressed or lose FP.

I've never done that before, but always wanted to see the wild dog.
