What's the passage of time like, and saving?

Nintendo 3DS [ Game Guide ]. JP release = Feb 2012. NA release = Oct 2012. EU release = Sept 2013

I've tried to look this up, but how does time pass in this game? Is it stops-in-buildings, or constantly running like GB or ToTT?

And is the save feature save-on-the-fly, save in diary at home, or the ever annoying sleep-to-save save feature?

Just wanted to know.

And I think that time does not stop in buildings either, like in GrB and ToTT

Yes, the time keeps going in buildings, I just hope you can "pause" it like in ds. Cute

Oh, is it just like the pausing in HM DS? Like in that game when you pause, does it freeze the touch screen? I want to be able to pause the game and mess around in the menus, which I wasn't able to do in DS... BUT, in that game, I just went inside a building and fiddled with my menus in there XD

Mmm I hope you can pause in the game, in some form or another. Like going to the request board/requests page in ToTT.

You can pause the game by pressing the right-shoulder button to open the ring tool menu or X to open the main menu. Time also stops when you are working on the town layout and using your blueprint workshop, and when you are looking through your rucksack, among other things.

You can also just press the HOME button on your 3DS to pause any game :shifty:

That's cheating though xD

Never thought of that though >< To be fair, I just bought my purple 3DS a month ago maybe, solely in anticipation for the release of ANB...

Glad to hear there are ways to pause though! 8D

And remember,
If you are trying to friend/woo someone, but their house is annoyingly out of the way, you can just move their entire house to be closer to your farm. Also works with shops.

Not all of the shops. I think you can't move Neil's and some others.

GOOD. I hated how you couldn't pause at all in Grand Bazaar :/
(and I was a bit worried about that tbh)
And I didn't know the pressing HOME button thing since I don't have a 3DS yet ><
(preordering anyway though! XD)

Neil and Rod both have houses they live in. You can move those.
