I do that too!Blue Bell wrote:Oh, so if I looked online and knew how to make grape juice, I would still get a failed dish unless my character had the recipe? Hmm. That's a little disappointing. I always start cooking up all the fun recipes when the game slows down after marriage. But by then I guess I'll probably have a decent amount of them collected, anyway.
Grape Juice
I think the grape juice recipe is already available when you start. You have quite a few recipes for starting you off.
Just like all HM games before the grapes come from trees so you have to buy the tree when it becomes unlocked. I don't think it's there at the start of year 1. I'm not sure when it would get unlocked.
If you're lucky you might get 10 grapes as a prize from a festival.

You're right. Always in the start we have some basic recipes, as rice, bread etc.Mz D wrote:I think the grape juice recipe is already available when you start. You have quite a few recipes for starting you off.

So maybe we'll have it as a normal juice recipe though.

Per Cher's festival prize page that she's got up (http://fogu.com/hm11/events/festival-prizes.php) when you win a contest festival you get 10 of some random item in the categories listed. If you ask Dunhill to tell you before the festival, he will tell you what the prize will be. If grapes fall into the 'crops' category, then you could win them from the chicken/cow/sheep/alpaca festivals.PeachyKeen wrote:What festivals could you get grapes from Mz D?
According to what I can find on the Japanese wiki, you get the Grape Juice recipe by fishing at Apprenticeship level, the VERY lowest level. So in other words, the moment you can fish, if you get to it, you've got a chance of pulling up Grape Juice's recipe.
Grapes themselves have to be grown, on a tree like a lot of prior games. You unlock them via shipping at least 16-ish wheat. The tree takes two months to grow, and bears fruit in the Fall, only.
Now, that all sounds ridiculous, and super-hard, but I'm not even done with year 2 and I've done all that already. The hardest part about courting Witch Princess...is unlocking her. Getting the blueprint to build her house so she'll move in? Let's put it this way. She was literally the last villager house blueprint I unlocked; takes lots of trips to the Ancient Ruins, etc.

There is no way to make any failed recipe. You need the to select which recipe you want to make and the only real option is which star level ingredient you want.zaria wrote:See? Then it's just getting the 'blueprint' and bringing grapes to your house to make the juice.PeachyKeen wrote:Getting a blueprint for food?
That's a luttle weird...greay...
When you click on the kitchen it just goes straight to the recipe menu and you need to select what you want to make.
I wouldn't call them hidden blueprints it's called recipe in game. You find them from fishing, mining and you can win them from the festivals.

um, no...you can't cook them. Cook grapes? and besides, the game isn't referring to real life, which is disappointing. you'll need a blueprint/recipeMagical Garden wrote:Can't you just cook grape into grape juice without a recipe?
well i would kinda agree with Mira. since it is on the japanese wiki. but, what they changed it? well i don't know, so far, i think what Mira says is correct.
So it's the same cooking style from IoH? I really don't like the cooking style in Island of Happiness, having to give someone food so that they give you a recipe and then you can cook it?
I like FoMT cooking style better..
it was also fun when you had to buy the kitchen appliances from the Tv each Saturday :D
