In both of my files, I recently got married and need to build the school. However, in both of them, I have under 100,000 G. Is there an efficient way to raise up G?

It's been a while since I've played this, but I think I got lots of money by planting strawberries in the first screen of the forest. It's easy and quick to reach, and strawberries regrow pretty fast. I guess you could do the same with regrowing crops from each season. It's been so long, I don't remember much, but I hope this helps!

*nods* Right. That's a good strategy. I usually had a square or two of strawberries in the spring dungeon, yams in the fall dungeon, and pineapples (slow, but extremely profitable) in the summer dungeon.

It's too bad that in gen 1 you can't 'cook' the pineapples into pineapple juice; that sells for a lot...

Hmm... what else... Oh, and fishing. Again not as profitable in 1st gen as second since you can't cook them, but it's usually a good way to get a few extra thousand a day. I like to fish from the town dock and the summer island dock mostly.

Really, that period after marriage but before building the school is a good time to build up materials ahead of time for the 2nd gen tasks so you can whiz through them, and build up your levels for the difficulty jump in 2nd gen so your kid isn't killed the first time they go into the spring forest... And building up skills too - I built up my magic skill to 99 in 1st gen just by using up all my RP and stamina on casting fireball over and over inside the house every night before bed. Also works for tools, but slower.

I recommend level 12+ if you're not there already, and there was a thread somewhere listing the stuff you need for the tablets in 2nd gen if you want to prepare ahead of time... I'll go search and if I find it I'll link it here.

*edit* Aha, here we go, it was actually in the RF2 mini guide stickied up at the top of the forum. Actually that whole guide is pretty good; I recommend checking it out if you haven't already. But here is the link and the bit that I was talking about:

The list of items and tasks you have to do for each statue seems pretty big, but luckily some of the items can be gathered ahead of time, while you're still in First Generation. Remember that dungeons become much more difficult, and the ores you had no trouble mining before (like Water Crystals, Wind Crystals or Gold) will be very difficult to access! Here's the list of items you should have before advance to second gen:

•3 Pink Turnips
•12 Apples
•6 Pineapples
•6 Moondrops
•6 Pink Cats
•5 Silver
•12 Scrap Iron <-- {actually, keep 18 scrap iron or even 24. I remember needing more than 12 in my game last time I played through.}
•4 Aquamarines
•3 Diamonds

That's the list of the items you can obtain - but there's a bit more you can do before you decide to make the switch. You'll need a lot of wood and money. Your school and your barn will need wood and money in order to upgrade, and you'll need even more of these vital supplies to build a Library and Dojo. Don't overdo it, but if you switch over with 1,000 Wood and around 300,000 G you shouldn't run into any problems.

The suggested level area for jumping over is 11-13. This is the level area you’ll want to be at, if not around 14-15, to beat Trieste Forest, the first area you’ll face. Monsters become much more difficult, so be prepared!

Also one thing to note - if you haven't obtained any of the empty bottles, the milker, the clippers or the brush there's no need to worry. If you advance to 2nd Gen without them they'll appear in the fireside chest with the rest of the rusty tools. Mighty convenient =) That's it! You're now ready for Second Generation... have fun~

Mine a lot and grow crops like a boss. Especially the regrowable ones.

I would recommend to plant crops that regrow in the dungeons, so that you have a steady supply of crops. It would also be best to mine a lot, especially in the Winter Dungeon, since I believe that is the only place where you can get diamonds (correct me if I'm wrong). Fishing is also good, but just concentrate on mining and farming mostly.

If you married Rosalind, then you should have half for the school to be built, I think. However, if you married someone else, then just mine a lot and grow crops in the dungeons. :D That's how I earned the 100,000 G...Oh, and as BlueTrillium said, level up as much as you can before entering the second generation; it helps a lot. :O

Hmm... I married Rosalind last time around (heard she had different dialogue so I wanted to see if I'd notice) and didn't notice any cost reduction. I suppose I could've missed something... but I'm pretty sure I paid 100,000 for the school.

Unless they just meant the board requests Rosalind gives that pay out big money? You can get her board requests no matter who you marry (though it is possible that for Rosalind's, you have to do them before marrying anyone else). But even if you married someone else without doing Rosalind's big money requests first, there are still the other big money requests from Max or their dad to help you out. (in addition to the mining and crops and fishing)

Oh, sorry if I made any confusion D: What I meant was, Yes, the requests she and Max give help a lot, but I recall that if you marry Rosalind, Herman gives you 50,000 G, unless it's during a different request...? :?:

I didn't marry Rosalind. Before I married, her request to catch a cold was up, but I didn't want to stay up two nights straight xD

Keep doing Tanya's requests that can be replayed and get to the one where she asks you to fight 10 pirate goblins, when you defeat all ten she will give you 1,000G. You can do this about 4 times per day,so you can make about 4,000G per day. Depending on how much money you will already have, this could be an easy way to get the remaining amount. I had 83,000 or something and I got the remaining amount pretty quick. As for the wood some requests will give you wood as a reward also,(most 100 wood or so). If you are not growing anything in your garden, make sure you pull up all the weeds and grass so that you have areas that are clear. Pretty quickly, branches and stumps will start to appear and you can get wood from those. You can also go to the gardens inside the dungeons and cut the branches and stumps there, although the wood in the dungeons will not regenerate as fast as the wood in your garden will from what I can tell. I hope I helped! :bunny:

I also married Rosalind so half of it was already paid. You can also grow tomatoes on the island.
