I finally unlocked the fruit island and I put stone fences up before I planted my seeds. and I keep getting this message that I need to stand in the middle or else it will be a waste. But....I AM standing in the middle?? is it because I put the stone fences up first? is this a glitch? how do I take down the fences. I can't plant my bananas

As far as I know, you can't take down the fences. The only way to do that is for it to be affected by bad weather, as long as you didn't use Gold Lumber. Anyway, you can try to keep trying and if it still doesn't work after a few tries, it might be a glitch.

It's winter, isn't it? Even though it LOOKS like you can still plant tree seeds on the island in winter, you still won't be able to plant your tree seeds. The fences aren't a problem when it comes to planting. You'll just have to wait util spring, then you can plant your trees. You might want to keep a record of what you planted and where, so you can keep easier track of sun and water points for the trees until they've grown.

BTW, you'll want to upgrade your fences to gold lumber as soon as you can. I recommend befriending the monkeys on Animal Island and have them bring you materials. That's the easiest way to get gold lumber for your trees.

Oh yes it is winter, thank goodness. I thought I ruined my game. :D Okay I'll wait till spring and see if I can. if not, I'll have to pray for bad weather.
