First of all just forage item on the ground,
*Weed
*Grass
*Seaweed
*Stone
*etc
don't be shy to pick all of them , you will be pay for that though.
After you got enough money.
Just buy like some bags of Turnips, and plant them.
Water them everyday (record how much sun/water they get and match them with this site's data. Turnips, for example need 3+ sun/2+ water over 2+ days to grow from seed to sprout)
After the first harvest, add more plots so that you spend most,if not all, of your stamina taking care of crops.
Got enough money again?
Buy Chicken, raise them and they will lay an egg for you
It may be tiring at the beginning though, but once you get to summer and start collecting wonderfuls, it'll get easier.
Oh don't forget!.
Save one turnip for the Spring Crop Festival. Don't harvest it until the festival day, or it'll rot and they won't take it.
If you win (enter an A or S rank crop), you'll get a wonderful
Also Get the volcano island for get the mine. Or wild animal island, befriend with them and you can get many rare stuff.

I usually foraged everyday on spring for bamboo shoots, some are rank S and they give a good amount of money.
Foraging is the best option for me.

SI is one of the hardest games to get money in, I find.

That is so true. I spent one whole month only to make 10.000g, which in other games I make the same amount in one day.
