I'd probably have to get the boy version, if only because Rising Star never localize girl-only versions in the UK. XD

Even if I said I would pick the set of bachelor/ettes I liked I would end up getting the girl version.

Neither.
If there are other features other than the gender of MC and the bachelor/ettes, I'll consider to buy both. Most of female versions of HM in the past had some added features other than playing as female MC, which was one of reasons I bought them. I won't waste my money and time on games that prevent me to fully experience the game. That and HM is not supposed to be a dating sim at the core. I can just play other games if I want to court pixelated girls/boys because HM dating system is not that great anyway.
