More not exactly lover dialogue but came up because I had one- I can't remember the first line unfortunately-

Allen on Harmony Day (dating, but not him):

Hey, Sam. You look well. Since it's Harmony Day, I brought you something. Be greatful. Eat up. Plenty of other women gave me presents for (winter) Harmony Day, but I liked yours best. If you didn't already have a lover, I would have gotten you something better. Too bad, huh? Well, I'll be going now. See you later.


It's cool if he skimped on quality... That's why he got a sad little cocoa pack >D

If you and I are thinking the same thing we're like a couple! W-What am I saying? You know what? I'll get going. You have to wake up early again, right? You should get some sleep. (Um... Neil... I don't really like Allen nor do I dislike him, he does have some good points but he's a jerk more often than he should. His dialogue is usually a lot of fun to read though~

I agree with Kisari. This time round, most of us have a character we would never marry -- many think Rod looks like a 10-year old, many are creeped out by Soseki (as am I), many can't stand Allen's ego -- but all of those have fans as well, and it's a good thing there are unusual characters. the bachelorettes feel a bit bland in comparison...

Both the quiet/stoic types and tsunderes are my favorites (whether to marry Gill or Gale in AP was a tough choice), so even if they're overused I'm glad Neil's there. He isn't even that easy to predict because, judging by his behavior in the beginning of the game, you'd think he'd be much more tsun when you're dating, when in fact he's quite sensitive and Allen is a « Rick » instead.

I'll have it be known that when I took a nap today, I had a dream where Neil and Rio were 'getting it on'. No actual penetration, though. Seeing as how I like Neil but not as much as some as the others, I blame this thread.
/Heads up to you HM fanfic writers out - Neil is rather shy, hesitant, and emotional when it comes to « Chicken Hugging », whereas Rio's an enthusiastic screamer pervert.

First Harvest Moon related dream, btw.

Anyway, I can't wait for more Soseki dialogue. And I want bachelorette dialogue, too. The girls look really good this time around<3

Im actually curious to see Michelle's dialogue :o isnt she a tsundere as well? or shes sweet on the outside but mean on the inside? or so I heard. Also curious to see Sanjay and Amir's dialogue as well. :lala:

I just got Amir and Sanjay moved in and will add there heart dialog when I see it. :)

This town has grown so much. When I was a kid, there were far fewer people here. It's nice to have a lot of people celebrating.

I wonder why they call this the Pumpkin Festival. I mean, we give out a bunch of candy, but we never give out any pumpkins, right? Maybe they give out pumpkins in other towns.

Everyone seemed really happy, so that made it worthwhile. If anyone dared to complain about my work, I'd have put them in their place.
Dating Pumpkin Festival Dialog (which is a lot less creepy when he's at a pink heart)

Yellow Heart Event
Just so you know, my character is named Nina and Allen's nickname for her is Honey.

Charles: It's rare for you to make a mistake. You surprised me!

Allen: I know. I surprised myself, and not in a good way! Sorry about that, Charles.

Sound of a door opening. Nina walks into the room, Allen gets a :!: over his head, and Charles turns to look at her.

Charles: Ah, Nina. Are you here to see Allen?

Nina nods.

Allen: Honey, you're here?

Nina walks toward them and Allen turns away. Nina gets a :?: over her head and Charles turns to address her.

Charles: You want to know what's happened here? I came in for my regular 'stash trim, but got less change than normal.

Charles: Allen didn't mention that the price had gone up, so I came back to check with him.

Nina gets a :!: over her head and turns to look at Allen.

Charles: It turns out he messed up and gave me the wrong change. Which, as I just said, is quite a rare occurence!

[Note: All spellings are exactly as I have them recorded. I don't have the event in front of me to check, so there is a possibility I wrote the word down wrong, but I tried to be careful, so misspellings are most likely from the game itself.]

Allen turns around to face Charles.

Allen: Charles, I'm really sorry. I'll make sure this never happens again.

Charles gets the mark over his head that means he's happy or laughing.

Charles: You don't have to worry about it, Allen. Everyone has their bad days.

Allen: ...

Charles turns to Nina.

Charles: That's all from me! I'll see you both later.

Nina nods and Charles leaves. Both Allen and Nina watch him go. After the door closes behind Charles, Allen turns away with a '...' over his head and Nina turns to look at him.

Allen: I can't believe I got someone's change wrong. If it had been someone other than Charles it could have been big trouble!

Nina gets a '...' over her head and Allen turns to face her.

Allen: Honey, please just leave me alone. I'm sorry, but I don't feel like making time for you today.

Choice 1: Leave (-2000 FP, +1 AP)

Nina nods and leaves. After the door closes behind her Allen gets a black cloud over his head.

Allen: How could I do that? Gah!

Allen gets a '...' over his head.

Allen: I must vow to never make the same mistake again, that's all! Now I need to try and take my mind off it.

Choice 2: Stay

Allen gets a black cloud over his head.

Allen: Please, Honey. Just leave.

Nina shakes her head.

Allen: ...Go! I don't like persistent women!

Nina gets a '...' over her head.

Allen: I don't want anyone around me at times like this, either. Go on, go.

What will you say to Allen?

Choice 1: Let's eat something nice! (+3000 FP)

Allen gets a '...' over his head.

Allen: ...

Allen: Hey, Honey. You're only saying that because you're hungry, right?

Allen: Bringing up food at a time like this makes me more shocked than angry!

Nina shakes her head and Allen gets a '...' over his head.

Allen: Okay. Genovese Pasta. I don't want to go out, you can make it in that kitchen there.

Nina gets a '!' over her head and nods. She turns and walks off. The screen goes black and there are cooking sounds. It fades into the two of them sitting at the table with full plates in front of them.

Allen: And.

Nina sweatdrops and Allen starts eating.

Allen: Well.

Nina gets a '...' over her head and eats. Allen stops eating and a '...' appears over his head.

Allen: ...Thanks.

Nina stops eating and gets a :!: , '...', and :?: over her head in quick succession.

Allen: Forget it. You're hearing things!

Allen eats again and Nina gets a :lala: over her head. The screen fades to black and then fades in on Nina walking away from the kitchen. Allen comes up to her.

Allen: Everything tided away?

Nina nods.

Allen: I'll take you home. Let's go.

Nina gets a :!: over her head. Allen starts to head toward the stairs, but stops to look at Nina again.

Allen: Look at the time. It's against everything I stand for to let my cute Princess walk home alone.

Allen gets a '...' over his head.

Allen: [blushing] Don't worry about that other thing. Here. I'll even apologize. Sorry.

Allen walks off and Nina gets hearts over her head before following.

Choice 2: Let's go see some beautiful scenery! (-2000 FP, +1 AP)

Allen gets first a '...' and then an anger mark over his head.

Allen: I don't feel like going out. My pride won't allow me to, not when I feel like this.

Nina gets a '...' over her head.

Allen: Please, Honey. Just go home.

Nina gets a '...' over her head, nods, and then leaves. After the door closes Allen gets a '...' over his head.

Allen: Thank you, Honey.

Allen: I need a change of pace. Gotta get out of this funk!
It might help to know that Allen is as hard on himself as he is on you.

Honestly though, I agree with a lot of what has been said about Allen because some of the things he says are kind of abusive and it worries me a little that I like him. I would never go after a guy like that in real life and I'm not even 100% sure why I am in a game. I guess there are a lot of little reasons. Since it's a video game, I don't take his lines seriously, so a lot of them make me laugh because they are so ridiculous. As much as I wouldn't like to admit it, a little of the attraction is purely physical. (I have such a glasses fetish.) But I think one of the main reasons I don't mind it is my own personal headcanon that a lot of the lines are meant in a teasing way. Some people just have a sense of humor that involves playful insults. I personally inherited it from my mom. With people that I'm close to I'll often say "mean" things. I have one friend who I often drive to church and a small group I'm in and it's become a running gag that whenever I get to her house when I'm dropping her off I say, "Get out." I'm the type of person who can joke with a straight face, but all my friends know that I'm not being serious and they laugh about it rather than getting their feelings hurt. My mom and dad do the same type of playful poking at each other even though they really love each other. Now, obviously, you can only do this with someone who thinks it's funny as well or it's just mean, which is why I only do it around people I'm friends with or comfortable around. Also, I think Allen probably means what he is saying a bit more than I do, but I imagine my character playfully teasing Allen as well and I think that conclusion is supported by a few things he says. That doesn't mean I like everything Allen says (I was a little pissed when he made me do the dishes), but I like the rest of the stuff he says enough to make up for it.

In real life you can generally tell when someone is taking part in mutual teasing versus just being mean, but when it's only text and there's no voice acting or anything, a game is a lot more open to interpretation, especially when we don't really see the main character's reaction to things. I don't mean that you have to agree with my interpretation or that you should just assume that someone in real life is just being playful. You have to be really careful in real life because it has far more reaching consequences than a game and you can't just reset if you decide you don't like the guy you went with after all. However, I do think that there's more than one way of looking at Allen that's valid.
