I've run across exactly one translation error/typo and this is coming from an English major (who relates with about 90% of the things posted on English Major Armadillo, seriously, I'm the real deal, with plenty of nerdiness to prove it. Actually 90% might be a slight hyperbole, but the ones that do describe me describe me so well that it's frightening.) I've yet to run into any bugs either.
Frankly, I think that Natsume's done a superb job on this game. They're being improving steadily over the years and are no longer the same company that pushed back games about five times before their release and when they were released spelled "sofa" as "sopha." For better or worse, Natsume's become extremely professional in the fifteen years that they've been around. Part of me will always be a little nostalgic for the old "Natume", but I don't think it's fair to judge the company as it is now on past mistakes.
So unless you can come up with some concrete examples as to what you mean, I'll have to respectfully disagree with you.

Yeah I agree with the nostalgia... like when they misspelled their own company name in Hm64. XD Good tiiiiiimes.

I haven't seen any bugs, and no translation "errors" (but plenty of translations I disagree with).
I think the quality here is superb.
If you make your character in a way that looks good to you, it doesn't look Simmy at all.

There are a few errors in dialogue but I haven't experienced any bugs nor have I heard of anyone else running into bugs. It's a great game, from what I've played so far. And Simmy? I don't think so.

To be fair, the bright blue hair looks pretty simmy on some of the sharper spiked short haircuts, IMO. But again, if you make your character in a way that looks good to you, I think it keeps looking great. Mine has the same hair color as the Harvest Goddess and Sprites, so I'm always like "yeah I'm a Harvest thing 8D"

Nothing that bothers me.

The spelling errors always made me giggle, I never looked at them as a bad thing!

And here I thought Natume was the sinister, evil twin...

Hmm, I haven't seen too many spelling errors. The only one I've paid attention to is when you leave Rod's shop without buying anything.. he says "You have go?" > >; makes me laugh. Though they sometimes use commas in really odd places.
But honestly, I've come to expect the spelling errors and whatnot in HM games.. it doesn't really bother me. :D

I'd have to disagree as well. So far the dialogue has been substantial and the characters feel more animate than TToT (e.g., Laney: "My dad's a great cook" x 10 lolzzzz).
However, I have caught a minor, totally inconsequential typo when you give Neil fodder as present. He'll repeat "I" twice:
So there's that haha Otherwise, I'm really loving the game, oh except for this:
I didn't realize trees were life ruiners, but okay. T_____T

That tree thing happend to me, too. It was in front of my house and I had to go left or right to leave. Going straight wasn't an option until I upgraded my axe.

I gave Neil fodder every day for two seasons and never noticed that typo. I feel silly.
Soseki thanks me for giving him his favorite food when I give him an old coin...ehehe. Silly man. There have been a fair amount of typos, but none that bother me. And I find the graphics really cute; My Sims was a lot blockier and chubbier.

I've noticed quite a few little typos in the game, such as what was pointed out earlier with Neil. I'm pretty sure I remember Dunhill using "you're" instead of "your" in the cutscene for Town Renovation Plan 3, which was wrong. There's a couple of others, but nothing too bad. Definitely nothing that prevents understanding or subtracts from gameplay.
