This should really go in the exchange thread. This is a thread for hosting animal rooms, chickens aren't allowed there. I do have a silkie egg though.

I am about to hit year 1 fall 1 and the only thing I need for Rod's shop is the wool. When I get there I will give notice but do you think I might be able to get some help?

You need to give lots of gifts to Iroha so you can get the blueprints for the upgraded axe and hammer. The upgraded axe will let you chop down the pine trees and create lumber, the hammer will help you crush regular rocks.
