The fact that it took me more than 30 seconds to draw this makes it even worse

But yeah, I guess it really does take a lot of time and practice and sorcery, but we won't get into that.

@kumapan

There must have been some sort of evolution of the human race that we missed out on XD

Weird thing is I've always been able to draw pretty well since I was really young. My dad can and my grandma could draw really well, so I just say that I inherited it more than anything if that's even possible. I've not even had that much practice where I've spent like hours/days/years/whatever of my life drawing. I'm completely self taught but I didn't have to do much teaching if that makes sense. I used to draw a lot as a kid sure, but when I got older I stopped. I just draw every so often, yet every time I do my art improves even though I'm not even practicing. :/ Even though it improves though I still don't really like drawing anymore tbh, I get too stressed out with it the majority of time so I gotta be really in the mood to do it. I didn't get stressed at my OC's drawing just cuz I knew it was only going to be a really quick thing and I just decided to try not care too much about it considering I've not drawn a woman in years.

Idk, I think someone else should have my skill or whatever because I don't really use it much anymore. Like once every 2 or 3 months maybe.

@Jeanne SO YOU GUYS DO SELL SOMETHING
Haha but yes, the good ol' practice makes perfect is the good route to take to get good at something! Even if it might take forever. (`・ω・´)
Screaming at paper is always good too. :3c I usually do that then some stuff happens and at some times nothing comes up. Basically a 50/50 thing.

Reni, that's amazing! I love her pose c:
Thank you! I'm glad you like the pose because as I was drawing it my lone thought was "I have no idea what I'm doing" xD.

@Llama: I'm glad you like it~ and don't be silly, your art is gorgeous! :)

WHOOPS THIS GOT KIND OF LONG, I GET ART FEELINGS...and then I ramble. ;P

I kind of get where you're coming from (well, except the last part. XD I kind of draw obsessively, if you can see.) My grandfather and my father are all pretty good artists and my father likes to claim a lot of my talent came from him. I always had an eye for color and for form (the three dimensional vision thing I talked about way back when, where I conceptualize in 3D) and I feel like those are qualities you can inherit, intuitive things and precociousness for an overall artistic and creative mind.

But on the other hand, all my prowess is from practice and drawing things that sometimes are boring, monotonous, difficult, or mind bending (just as often, they are fun, challenging, and still mindbending though! You don't try as hard if you don't really want to make it.) It's not just haphazard practice, because if I just doodled busts all the time (which I do), that really doesn't do much for my overall creative, conceptual, and executable art process.

My old laptop died a while ago, and I lost a lot of old scanned art (I'm a little too lazy to go find my old sketchbooks and rescan them), otherwise I'd pull it out and show you how much of a difference just two or three years makes. And it helps that I'm never satisfied, that I know I can always do better. Finishing art is a relief, not a triumph, if that makes sense? Especially since a lot of people starting out in art have this huge gap between their tasteful understanding of art and their skill to execute such art. Like, I knew what good art looked like and felt like long before I could do ANYTHING like it (still do) and that's probably the most frustrating part! Because you keep trying and you have this excellent taste for art and your own art just stares sadly back at you because the skill is still growing.

ANYWAY, I am rambling a lot, because recently art has just kind of taken over my life, staged a coup d'etat and proclaimed a tsardom in my mind and yeah. XD

Sorry if this got a little derailing! ^^

Also, totally forgot to do this earlier, but oh my gosh, Elena is the greatest in that outfit. I feel like I didn't give enough love in the PM, so take the extra you have wonderful art love now, kays? <3 It's the same one she was wearing with Xilan, no?

EDIT: Reni, just saw your support on my weird theory. ^^ Das good, because this drabble has shades of that, ahaha. :D

Art wise for me...
My mother is an artist, except she can draw realistically, and I'm just all anime here. qwq
I've always been told I'm a great drawer (even though I've never thought so) so I've always kept drawing. ^^

I'm happy you think so! I was kind of debating whether or not I liked the change, but it's starting to grow on me I think. And yes and no, I ended up changing it quite a bit since then (ruffles pls). Also sending the you have wonderful art love back tenfold, because omigosh those tai chi poses were superamazingfantastic -pose envy-.
And yes it's definitely a plausible theory, I will always look at that shed with suspicion now... 8|

People have always said I draw well, and I guess that's half-true, but they draw pretty darn amazing themselves. I dunno, I just don't want to sound self-deprecating and/or cocky here. Like, I've always known that "dis line goes here" and "dat should be darker over dere" because art is one of my stronger points (doesn't mean I'm better at it than anyone else by any means, though). A lot of people also ask me how I shade and draw steady lines and stuff like that, but they just go "Pfft, ain't nobody got time for practicing" when I tell them.

My sister's super artistic...my mom and dad aren't. At all.

@Reni

Aww, thanks! And I love her outfit, too.

@kumapan

Brb dying

Oh, and can I just jump in here and say that the theory about the shed is totally 100% true

@Jeanne: Nah it wasn't too much rambling or anything. It's nice that you're so passionate about it tbh because it's something I lack. I know that I have talent and I have a great eye for male anatomy like the muscle and facial structure etc. But the thing is, I just don't feel passionately enough about it that I would draw all the time. If I did I'd probably excel, but I'm content with drawing once every 3 months or so (sometimes even like 6 months) and still showing significant improvement from when I last drew anything. Maybe it's weird that I still improve when I don't even practice, I even find it weird tbh and I guess I take it for granted a bit. I still do surprise myself though when it comes to that sometimes.

Art just isn't a passion for me anymore. It was when I was a kid maybe but I dunno, I just can't really be bothered with it much anymore. I'll do it whenever I really get the urge to or decide there's something I really want/need to draw though and I do still enjoy it when I feel like drawing. If I don't feel like drawing I just don't enjoy it and it just kinda stresses me out. Last thing I drew was in like November before the drawing of my OC. I had a lot of fun with the drawing I drew back then even though, again, it was a sketch that only took me about 40 minutes or so. So, again it doesn't have my full potential in it - which is something I have a tenancy to do lately just because I'm so lazy.

(If you wanna see that last drawing I did it is here:
Spoiler:

I used a reference for the pose on this just cuz I wanted it to be quick and it was also for someone else who wanted it to be drawn in this specific pose - I don't usually use references though tbh unless they're given to me.
- I actually prefer slimmer men like this but I draw muscular men usually just because muscles are fun to draw. I don't actually find muscular men attractive though. :I)

Thanks for the read though, was nice seeing how passionate you are!

I also really like how in depth you are with your OC as well. :>

Haha, on the topic of art skillz, I just grew up drawing. Whenver I have a writing implement in my hand I draw, simple as that, and it's always been that way. I remember getting in trouble in grade school because on my test sheets I drew elaborate Lion King murals instead of, you know, doing the test. >_>

I don't use references pictures or anything, either, I just picture it in my head and draw it.

But you can believe it's black magic if you want ohohoho 8D

A made a short video of Cary doing his morning chores. Sorry it's hard to see. My camera and YouTube don't get on. Apparently, Cary's a bit camera shy. He keeps forgetting what he's doing. :lol:

I'm going to do one for Kaylee as well, as soon as she gets a morning that's neither rainy nor a Sunday.

In regards to drawing talent, I wouldn't say I have a talent for it. XD I have to use references for poses and even then it never quite turns out exactly how I want. I'm always envious of others and their styles and their talents and their skills... @.@

But I continue to draw even if it's imperfect because I enjoy seeing the characters I envision being given a visual form. ^.^
Speaking of which, I drew up another quick picture of Kerria.

Again, it's pretty rushed. But I figured those who so generously offered to draw her for me would like a better reference than that little headshot. >.<; And I really like the little bow Clover and Bunny added to her hair in their drawings so I decided to make that part of her normal outfit~ :3
