Most of my gripes are the same as everyone else, but the biggest thing that throws me into a frothing rage is when the villagers trample over my crops while I'm at work. For the last time, Emma, GET OFF MAH LAWN!!!!! Yes, I'm working, and I'd appreciate it if you'd stop walking circles in front of me so I can KEEP working.

I thought I'd be super clever and fence in my cows so none of them could escape, and no villagers could wander in there....but apparently Toni has no problems climbing fences. >:(

I just had to lol at that.
But yeah, I haven't got the game yet but that seems annoying, trying to get some work done when these selfish people are deciding to take a walk about in front of you just to purposefully annoy you as if they haven't got anything better to do in their spare time.
I actually find it quite amusing in a way.

I've only had this game for two days but I'm still stuck in the middle of the first Spring. This is because the beginning of this game is unbelievably boring and I cannot get to Summer fast enough. Cool for people new to the series I guess, but when you know what you're doing a month long tutorial that you're forced to go through is infuriating.

Not for me, actually. In all the HM games I honestly couldn't have cared less about the villagers other than the ones I was interested in marrying or gaining some perk by. In this one the way the villagers moved in and you start with so few and work your way up, I find myself caring about them a whole lot more. That's just me though.

I definitely don't mind that part, working up toward the villagers moving in is actually something I look forward to doing because it gives me goals. It's just the first month where there's very few things you can do that irritates me.

I agree with you, all there was to do was forage and take care of any livestock you have, which didn't take much time at all. Could have added a few more things.

I don't think I hate anything, even the new stuff like barn dirt and eating times I kind of like since it adds realism. (well for eating length I just imagine the first 1.5 is picking stuff from their garden, cleaning, and cooking :p) But the lack of something really bothers me: headwear. Why can I not wear a hat which isn't fused to my hair style? (how does allen style your hair to look like a cow-print cowboy hat anyhow??) I just want a touque in winter, it looks too cold without one. ;-; And a pretty sunhat in summer...

Definitely hate how the villagers will teleport, like you'll be walking to someone's house, most likely your love interest. You haven't given them a gift yet cause you were busy with farm things, and while you're walking your way to their house, the time strikes that magical time and BAM they sudden disappear completely off the face of the map. And now you spend another hour looking for them.
Eating time + Teleport is the worst, you wait for them to finish, and you have to rush to give them their gift, cause once they leave that door, and you chase after them, they aren't going to be on the other side of the door walking down a path. So after spending that time waiting for them to eat, you're wasting more time looking for them again xD
But I guess the teleporting is necessary since there's no set paths, or housing locations, since we can move them and stuff. So sometimes I wonder if this game would have been better if the building and paths were just set and unmovable.

Pacing, and children. Not looking forward to having kids like I usually am. :/ The game is incredibly slow, too, and just waugh. It's really not as good as I thought it would be.

You've all mentioned many of the things that irritate me with the exception of cut scenes.
The opening closing one for the animal store isn't too bad, but the unskippable twice a day animal helpers one drove me so batty I told my pets to stop helping. Having the pets take the animals out of the barn also added an extra 2 hours to my morning chores somehow. Faster to just leave them inside.
Still the first handheld HM I have enjoyed since FoMT.
