I might try to play it later tonight, oh heck maybe in a few minutes. At least I have a stuffed animal from the game.
I was mainly hope for an easy button skip intro secret, but doesn't seem so.
@Rosetta, it's far from quirky, I think Harvest Moon DS got the touch screen inventory just right personally, I'm confused why they even would decided to make it more complicated. When HM games traditionally they tried to make Inventory easier to use.
Yes I just think it's a good thing not to give up on it. If you end up hating the game that's fine. I really hated ToTT so...
I think they added quite a lot of really fun features in this one. I just really wish there was more skipping also. I skipped all the ones I could but it's still a bit obnoxious. Luckily I take quite a lot of joy from farming and dating sims...
I agree with the Harvest Moon DS inventory. That one and Animal Parade are my favorite HM games. The touch screen inventory in DS/DS Cute was great.

You're obviously in the wrong market of games. Harvest Moon games are Japanese developed and they have a tendency to always give their games incredibly slow starts. This is usually how 90% of their RPGs play out. Harvest Moon in particular does it terribly because elements of gameplay rarely change very much from game to game but it's almost like you have to sit through each game's tutorial no matter how many you've played simply because you don't want to miss out on any new stuff. While it's alienating in nature not to do this for newer gamers coming into the series it's annoying for series followers like us.
In the end it's just one of those things you have to get over and move on with. As painful as it is just know there's a great game lying under all this.

Why objectives? Rather have personal freedom. Objectives can get annoying, if they're required.. are they required? D=
Oh, I do have personal freedom. I'm not rushing in this game at all, I'm just stockpiling, farming, and making friends with everyone!

Tried to go through it again, accidentally shut the game off again by pressing home and forgetting how to get back to the game from home button, Power was getting low and I'm completely forgetting how to use the 3DS, not as simple when in game as a PSP. Then I accidentally shut it off a 3rd time, stupid me, pressed the power button, and bah, again forgetting how to use the 3DS thinking if I press it again it would go back, but no shut it off.
Oh well, always tomorrow.
Gameplay after I FINALLY get past the useless tutorial it isn't too bad so far, gameplay ran smooth, no slow downs, moving around was relatively quick, in game map wasn't so huge. Wasted some seeds early on on accident, disliking the 2 by 4 crop rectangles, still miss the old 3 by 3. They should play on nostalgia in some ways, but they do in no ways anymore.
Of course after not listening to an ounce of the tutorial I figured out how to do everything that the tutorial tried to tell me in the manor of a few minutes. I even found the shipping bin and learned how to use it over a day before the tutorial for it...
Over all my only real worry so far is how much work it is going to be to get the town up and going. I wasn't looking forward to this "Building" a town thing. I like HM games simple, I miss simple, simple was fun, relaxing, not so tedious, kinda like Minecraft, simple/fun, not tedious. HM used to be the minecraft of my child hood. hehe

Turning off the game before saving is your own fault, not the game developers.
Threatening to kill anyone is not appropriate for this forum.
If you don't like it, return the game.
