I want t o kill the developers of ANB already.

I just bought the game today, and already the introduction was insanely long that I idiotically shut the game off before even saving after I finished it. Why I shut it off was FINALLY after getting through what was the msot annoying introduction I'VE ever seen, I quickly become frustratedwith the inventory management system right when I finally had a chance to actually control my character outside the introduction without mr annoying cowboy yelling at me. Then I discover I had no tools, at least I couldn't find them anywhere at all on the farm.
I dont' think I've had a worse introductionary experience in any video game I've ever played. Right off the bat this game is horrible. I know one reviewer said to give it time, as it's a slow start, but I absolutely can not stand slow starts, at least this darn slow, I've not actually played a game with a start this slow. Not even a Final Fantasy game. I think I just threw away over twenty minutes on the introduction and having to go through it again is keeping me from trying to start all over again.

Making a thread about wanting to kill people. Over a game tutorial. Way to stay classy.

You don't get your tools right away, but you get them very quickly. If you are having so much trouble with controls and figuring out what's going on, maybe you should have paid better attention to Dunhill ("annoying cowboy man")'s tutorial... I certainly didn't have any problem with controls, beyond not realizing that you could use Y to unequip for a while.
If you could explain the specific issues you're having, that would help.
This game is really amazing, though. Not just here -- it's been getting excellent reviews. I hope you'll give it a chance.

Then don't play it and pick up a different HM game. Problem solved. Rather than blame the developers, just blame your lack of patience.
Yes, the tutorial is slow. But it's not the end of the world. It's a lot better than not explaining any of the basic controls, the main menu, and so on and so forth and let you fumble for information entirely on your own, don't you think?

This game does have a slow start and some long tutorials but, it has everything else.
(Especially awesome bachelors and bachelorettes
)Just give it time, and you'll be addicted.

It gets a lot better as you move on since you get different objectives to fill

Umm it's totally fine if you end up disliking the game, but I think you should probably at least play past the tutorial before declaring it to be horrible.

Yeah um... It's okay to not love the game or be upset with a slow start but... kill the developers? Take a chill pill.
I don't like the tutorial beginning either. I'm the type that DOESN'T read manuals and just likes to fumble around till I figure everything out but it's not a big deal. Lots of different types of people play HM games and I think it's a good thing to have.
I'd really recommend playing past the tutorial so you can make a more well informed decision. I have read Twilight and 50 Shades of Gray purely so I have REASONS to hate them and logic behind it.

Well it's not just the tutorial that's slow. xD It's slow until Spring 25th really.... But I agree with the overall sentiment of this game, love it~ Even though the dating system like... makes me anxious and unsure of my choices.

I honestly didn't think the intro to this game was as bad as some of the others. Or, at least, it felt rather about the same. Fairly certain you didn't start off with many of the tools in the last two or three games. It's been ages since I started a new HM aside from ANB, but most of them are slow paced from the start. You're given the option to skip some of the tutorials anyway. I agree that the inventory has some quirks...I'd like to be able to have rucksack items in my quick grab instead of having to comb through each time, but meh...it's not a game breaking trait.

I declared the introduction of the game horrible, not exactly the game itself. Though I'm starting to question their decision making on constantly changing the games, in not exactly improving ways.
@Emurii
I figured out all the controls he tried to tell me tutorial in not even a minute, including inventory. All I did during tutorial was B A B A, if it was anything like Tale of Two Towns tutorial it was pretty much useless no brainer information, but with no option to just skip it like you could on older Harvest Moon games is down right ridiculous.
@HummingGillz
I've not liked a Harvest Moon game really since perhaps Back to Nature, and well I've grown old/bored of going back to it time and time again. xD
@Billy--
Why objectives? Rather have personal freedom. Objectives can get annoying, if they're required.. are they required? D=
@Ossan
I know, I was hoping for some motivation, which didn't really come out well it seems from responses, though that's entirely my fault for making such a hateful post. hehe
@Kisari
I might try to play it later tonight, oh heck maybe in a few minutes. At least I have a stuffed animal from the game.
I was mainly hope for an easy button skip intro secret, but doesn't seem so.
@Rosetta, it's far from quirky, I think Harvest Moon DS got the touch screen inventory just right personally, I'm confused why they even would decided to make it more complicated. When HM games traditionally they tried to make Inventory easier to use.

I agree the tutorial is painfully, rediculously long but I kinda understand. The developers are just making sure you get what's going on. Not everyone plays all of the hm games so if they are just starting this game they might now know what to do so its kinda understandable. Not giving everything away just explaining the spring season

Aw

I'll understand why you'll be upset it is a long intro compared to the other
HM games. Just go through with the game as if you have no idea what Harvest Moon
is haha. I had the same problem as you but I was around Spring 10. However now
I'm in Fall and can't put the game down! It's really fun give it some more time!

Most Harvest Moon games I've played have had long introductions. They are just trying out new things so you aren't buying the same exact game all the time. It's kinda fun for me to see how they'll change it up. Trust me the game is really worth the wait and introduction

There's a long introduction because they implemented a lot of new game mechanics.
It's a really fun game after that.
