I was wondering, have you ever experinced(with your Gamecube) When turning it on and the CD won't spin. Then that menu pops up after the Gamecube Logo spins around and you push up on your analog stick and their's a question mark where the game's name should be, and it says "no disk!!!"
I was wondering this because it happens to my Gamecube alot and it takes a few trys to get it going and spin the CD, and I don't understand why!!!

Make sure the top is closed all the way and your eject button isn't stopped. The eject button does stop.

Thats the major problem with top loading disc trays, After awhile the little latch that holds the cover down wears down and gets harder to keep in place. It just recently happened with my Ps1 and the way I dealt with it is just put a book or something on top of the cover.

One wierd thing thou is that it mainly happens when I play Budokai 1 on me Gamecube, weird huh!?
Kafei what do you mean about the eject button being stopped, do you mean it stops working!?!?

Well I don't think thats what he meant, I think he meant the button being stuck down or maybe perhaps broken.

Well if you switch games a whole lot it's bound to happen sooner or later, depending on how you treat your Gamecube.

Hmm... I'd really be more worried about tray eject systems. General rule of thumb being the more complex something is, the easier it is to break.
Most problems with the lid seemed to have been in first and second generation PSX's if I remember right. I had a newer model so I lucked out there.
As for the gamecube problem... if your system is new (or at least still under warranty) I'd get it returned. I've never heard of anyone having that problem, and if yours has been that way from the start, then chances are your gamecube got dropped a couple times before it got put on the shelf.

No I got my Gamecube used from a used Video Game store. But it's new to me

Now it starts up fine when I put a book on top or the lid
But if it ever breaks to where I doesn't work, I'm going with a brand new Gamecube

My idiotic sister put the game in crooked once. I had to pry it out with my finger.... took 4 minutes.... And thats a long time to be getting out a disk. never the less, I never let her touch my gamecube again.
