Just opening the System is against the law, so putting the parts into another machine is way illegal.

The fish has a point though......if we can't use it for a purpose other than that which is intended, then we don't really "own" our gaming systems. That sucks.

Thats why it's illegal to Mod your Ps2 or X-box without the companies permission. (All you people who opened your Ps2's just commited an illegal act).
I think I already said that Saga. But just to re-iterate. You bought the rights to use your Video game system.

Legality is all about enforcement. A law is useless if for all intents and purposes unless it's unenforcable. You will never have a police raid on your house because you have a modified PS2 laying out.

The laws are more there to try and keep people from selling modified consoles (or parts of consoles). Could they legally prosecute you if they wanted? Sure... but the amount expended on the lawsuit would be some 50 times more then what they could ever successfully sue a home gamer for simply modifying his/her console.

Yes Myah explained to the extent that although it may be illegal they won't bust you just for that. But in my case I have the Rights to mod my Ps2 and Gamecube, although My Gamecube has nothing special that I want to mess with other than the case.

Hmmmm.........so.....we own the rights to use the consoles, we own the consoles ourselves, but they cannot be tampered with and then resold.......I don't have a problem with that. :)

How do you have the rights to mod your systems, but we don't? I'm confused now...........

You have to have Exclusive rights from the Company, it helps if you're in the video game business. Write a letter asking for rights to your system and such.
