Cows - Blizz (cause I went thru a snowstorm to pick the game and my cow plushie up XD) Hurri and sunny
Sheep - velvet and wool
Yak - toast and cereal
Alpaca - rose and tulip
Llama - elvis and JFK (after a movie were jfk and elvis team up to defeat a mummy)
Chickens - numbers as always x.x
Dog - cleo (after my first dog)

My animal names are just the usual, except I used 'Maru' for my jersey cow, from the anime 'Rinne no Lagrange', where the MC is in the 'Jersey club' and always make a 'Maru' (circle) sign
For pet names, I just randomly named them Benji, Inu, Kuro, and Shiro.. Two cats and two dogs, I'm sure you know which are which

I named all my chickens after characters from a certain anime (Bonus points if you know the anime =) )
They're:
Ikuto, Amu, Tadase, Yoru


Otherwise all my other animals have names that start with the letter of what animal they are.
ie:
Sheep: Sakeru
llama: Lloyd
Yak: Yakumo

Only my cows and alpaca don't follow that pattern (My cows all start with "M" while my Alpaca is "Yuki" as in the Japanese word for "snow")

My pets are a bit different in that I named my white dog Youko and black cat 'Mia' ...they're also kind of from anime...KIND of

Mareep is my first sheep, named after the Pokemon.

I'll use Romani and Cremia, the two farmgirls in Majora's Mask known for their farm's milk, for my jersey cow and yak.

I'm naming my dogs after my real life dogs. The brown floppy ear dog is Nandy, the white pointy ear dog is Briggs, and the white floppy ear dog is Honey. I'll name the black pointy ear dog Tic, because that's the noise my last dog, Cricket, makes when she runs through the house. Cricket's too long of a name for the game

Oh, and I'll get a cat and name it after my boyfriend, Todd.

I only know the purple Mia >.>

I usually name them based on what shows I'm currently watching. Or have read in the past. Or what pops into my head as I see them. Even my farm is called "Rinch".

Brown alpacas: Damon and Stefan

White alpaca: Lily

Cows: Derek and Belle

Sheep: Jest

Suffolk: Regina and Swan

Yak: Goji

Chickens: Sterek, Pip and Pei.

Llama: Presly (since I knew a lot of people name theirs Elvis, I went w/ shortened version of Presley.

Bonus points to those who can guess what shows I'm watching.

The cat on Endrance's shoulder was actually white (though in the end it was technically not Mia)...though he still called it Mia so... I SHALL CALL ANY CAT 'MIA' FROM NOW ON! Who cares that it isn't purple? LOL

Although I'm also a huge fan of Amu x Kairi (What would that be called? Kaimu? Amuri?) so.... Ikuto! You only get Amu until Kairi comes back in a blaze of glory! LOL xD;;;

Cows: Haru and Hisoka
Sheep: Ito (It means yarn in Japanese)

For some reason, I have an odd habit of naming some of my harvest moon animals after pets I've had (in real life. lol) who have passed away. So...

Cows:

Munchi, after my cat Munchkin who passed

Zoe, after my greyhound Zoe who passed

Mutz (pronounced Mootz), not named after any deceased pets but in the 90's when I was playing HM on the gameboy, I asked my Mom, "What should I name my cow?" and she randomly said, "Mutz!" and ever since then, I have had a cow named Mutz in every HM game...because I love my Mom <3

Jersey cow:

Goober, for no real reason. I just couldn't think of a good name and the spots kind of look like peanut butter...so...

Yak:

Quisha. I don't know why. It just fit.

Alpaca:

Willy, after my current (alive!) cat Willoughby

Llama:

Zak, after my greyhound, Zak who passed away

Sheep:

Tunia, after my cat Petunia who passed away

Mutton, just because its funny...

Horse:

Aspen, because he is white and my white cat (Willy) was originally named Aspen before I adopted him

Chickens:

Cutlet, because its also funny...I always name a chicken cutlet

Peep, because they look like marshmallow peeps when they are chicks. Another name I've used ever since I've been playing HM

Silkie Chickens:

Raisin, because the baby silkies look like raisins

Dogs:

Bosco, after my dog Bosco who had passed away

Cloud, just because its white and fat

Cat:

Moon, because I just like the name



Okay...I'll shut up now. Haha

Okay...one more thing to add here.
To those of you who want to name your animals anything which is not "allowed"...I had noticed one person on a different thread had said they really wanted to name their cow, "Shitka"...you actually CAN get around this if you use all caps and substitute the lowercase L for a capital i and vice versa. So you can indeed name your cow "SHITKA" and the lower case L looks just like the i. I'm sure you all probably knew that, but just in case anyone hasn't considered that, yes, it does work!

I haven't got the game, but on one of my other Harvest Moon games (can't remember which) I named a few of my animals Milky. I also named my horse Coco or Choco and I called my cows Dreame or Creame. Weird, right?

I have some certain names I always use, and then some I just kind of make up as I go XD
Cow: MooCow (I usually name my Cow's Moo, or Cow)
Bubble Cow: Carrie (The giant pre-order cow plushy I got is named Caroline, so it's after that, and from Gypsy XD)
Sheep: Wooly (I always name one that, since first playing Rune Factory, if I have more then one the the next one is Baa)
Alpaca: Yusuke (from YuYu Hakusho! and also so my Llama can be named....)
Llama: Kuwa (Short for Kuwabara XD It's that adorable Pompadour! I want a Llama plush...)
Yak: Plushy (From the normal pre-order gift, which I also got.)
Horse, Black: Kamui (From X/1999, if I ever get a white it will be Kotori lol If I am forced to get a brown one then it's name is Pony )
Then Chickens, I usually only have 4 ever and I always name them, in this order: Cheep, Chick, Chirp, and Bill XD but I got a Silkie egg in the wifi so it's name is Knight, my first fifth Chicken since the days of Harvest Moon GBC.

I don't really like having a lot of animals, so just one of each kind is usually fine besides chickens, but I do kind of want a brown alpaca and a suffolk, Jersey I can do without.

My new-style cows all get Assassin's Creed Assassin names (Altair, Ezio, Conner etc.)
My bubble cows get my old HM cow names (CowCow, CaoCao, Bubble, etc.)
My chickens get food names (D.Meat, W.Meat, DStick etc.)
My silkies will likely get fat names (Sumo, Chubbs, etc.)
My llamas and sheep have been getting women's names (Emilia, Tina, etc.)
My pets have Avatar names (Katara, Toph, Sokka and Aang)
My horse is named Zuko (since he looks so cool)
