I plan on buying it when it hits stateside... but I have crippling disorder known as Harvest Moonphilia. No known cure... only thing that helps is getting in hours and hours of farm time in virtually. Although one game lasts awhile, it usually loses it's strong effects every 6-12 months and you have to purchase tougher or more advanced sequel.

The withdrawal effects are horrible. They can include things like randomly picking up and dropping animals to see a heart appear above their heads, running into a fence for several minutes, digging holes in 3x3 patterns in the yard and expecting a full sized tree to grow in a few days and worst of all, waking up at 6am exactly no matter when you go to bed.

Luckily since I carry FoMT with me almost at all times I'm able to avoid these horrible horrible effects. It's wearing off though... need more...

Why would a guy buying FoMT:FG be any different from a girl buying FoMT?

I'm a female (won't say girl since my age is too high for that term) and I'll probly buy FG when it comes out here in Europe. But still I don't know if it has the right "feeling", since I'm so used to playing as a boy.

they can buy if they want to, and if anyone gives a damn about it they should tell them to shut up (or suggest that they play it  )

I've got no problem buying this game.
In fact it shows my support of Natsume and the Harvest Moon Franchise.

Haha, I know exactly what you mean!

I don't plan on getting this game as the changes aren't substantial enough to make it worth purchasing, when I already have FoMT.

guys may wonder what it's like having to play the opposite gender
or they could be trying to collect all the HM games, and just want it to sit on a shelf. :)

It's just a game. Why is it any different for a guy to play a girl when girls are almost always stuck playing as guys in a game?

If anyone gives you any grief for it just ignore them. Those are probably the people that don't have a very secure image of themselves and fear they will lose their own gender identity by merely playing as the opposite « Chicken Hugging ». Mock them for that that should shut them up. Or at least confuse them.

i just thought it was strange when my wife had a baby.
my WIFE had a baby.
it just threw me off. and sometimes i would really get lost in the game imagining that i was jack, and i would see the girls liking me and think 'ew, whats wrong with....oh yeah, im a guy.'. it's not really that much of a self-image problem, its a problem of loving the game a bit too much.

lalalalala: Bah. Pride won't get you anything. Chances are your friends will already be making fun of you for playing a farming game anyways while they are playing GTA:SA so how much more damage could playing the female version be?

People will always find a reason to make fun of you if that's what they want to do. Might as well have fun and do the things you enjoy while they're doing it.
