Oh. My. Gosh. FeMorgan is such a troll. xD In her S Rank with Inigo
Her S rank with Yarne is hilarious too. Seeing her events kind of makes me wish that the FeMU got her as a second child...they could have left male Morgan's name as Mark and changed her name to Morgan to differentiate between them. Plus, since the guys get two kids with all of the normal girls, it'd be nice if the girls could get two kids without marrying Chrom.
Omg Female Morgan is a total troll. With pretty much everyone. It's AMAZING. Her supports with Gerome and Laurent are made of serious troll, and I loved her events with Yarne. She trolls him SO MUCH

I was surprised at how much of a contrast she was from male Morgan, who's more of the adorkable, dedicated type. I thought that they were just gender swaps of each other, so seeing her events were really surprising. xD
So I started a second file, and now I'm on chapter 9. My pairings this time have been different, as well as a few of the units I'm regularly using (like I'm actually managing to use Donnel decently now, and while I haven't gotten around to switching him away from villager yet I forged a bronze lance to have awesome attack power and he's actually pretty awesome now). I also plan on making Nowi and Lon'qu regulars in my team. Also, I never got around to actually speaking to Libra during chapter 9 on my first file so there's the fact that I'll actually be recruiting him this time too.

Not sure yet if I'll make him a team regular.
The only two pairings that have managed to get married yet are Sully and Chrom and the Avatar and Lon'qu. I just can't do Chrom x Sumia because they're just strangled by the red string SO HARD. I mean, I like both of them fine, but I just hate how the game basically forces them together! While I understand the need for Chrom to need a love interest
, I just don't see why the game forces Sumia on him. Maybe if their supports were less blatant about the pairing (seriously,
) Considering the whole marriage system, I thought that they'd allow a little more freedom in the matter. I know you don't have to get them married to each other, but if Chrom can have events with Sully, Maribelle and the female avatar (don't know about Olivia considering the fact that their situation is a bit...strange and I haven't gotten them married) without making them overly shippy
they could do it just as easily with Sumia.
/ridiculous rant over
Anyway, here are the other pairings I plan for this file:
Lissa x Donnel
Nowi x Ricken
Cordelia x Stahl or Frederick (I've heard that she's really cute with Stahl but I've heard mixed opinions on her and Frederick, ranging from "oh my gosh so cute" to "NO. JUST NO." Either way, Severa will turn out to be a beast.)
Sumia x Henry
Maribelle x Gaius (I stumbled upon their C rank event in my first file after they were both married, and I was like "That's it, they're getting together on file 2.")
Kellam x Olivia
Further pairings are to be decided. xD

I have yet to get Morgan but I'm glad they made the gender flips have their own style. It is much less when fun their gender is the only difference between characters like that.
I am seriously dieing. These freakin supports Never. End. All the original Shepherds have full support with everyone else (besides the MC. She's not finished yet but all the others are) and now that I paired them up I've got a bunch more supports to get.
But anyways in the file where I got people married the couples I made were done for pretty shallow reasons. Even though I went to the trouble of seeing everyone's S Supports with everyone I didn't pair people up because I liked them as a couple (although I do like quite a few of these couples anyways).
This is what I went with:
Lissa and Vaike
Maribelle and Libra
Viron and Cherche
Miriel and Lon'qu
Sully and Kellam
Nowi and Gaius
Tharja and Frederick
Cordelia and Gregor
Panne and Donnel
Sumia and Chrom
Olivia and Henry
Poor Ricken and Stahl are all alone. I kind of wish I went with some different combos but it is too late to go back now :T.

I recently got this game (I'm on Chapter 5) and this is my first time playing Fire Emblem. It's really fun, I'm loving it

But how do you see the character's supports? I am trying to get my character to marry Chrom, but how do I know if he will marry her? I am so used to playing only Harvest Moon...where are the heart colors and events? xD jk lol

Everytime you have two characters fight in adjacent spaces, their relationship will grow stronger and some hearts will appear at the top of their heads. When you have them fight enough, you'll be able to see their supports in the menu (press x in the map screen).

Soooooo now I know who I'm pairing with Gaius XD That sounds like such an entertaining pairing :D
I agree with you on Sumia and Chrom. My personal opinion is I ship MU x Chrom and if Cordelia can't have Chrom then Sumia DEFINITELY cannot have Chrom. Because I'm mean and Sumia is derpy. Also Cynthia WHY. As far as the strangled red string goes... I mean, storywise yes Sumia is pretty much forced on you, but from what I've seen from others and my experience with the plot the MU x Chrom pairing can be pretty forced too. Well, forced as in "WHOOPS you didn't have a different female support with Chrom higher than the female MU so now they're married! 8D" as opposed to actual plot. Which I'm ok with either way because MU x Chrom
D: I did not grind for supports to that extent. I mostly got everyone married and didn't really bother with anyone else's supports except maybe some of the kids (Inigo and his parents = hilarity).
Female Morgan is my favorite character

Troll child is troll

I agree with you mostly. Like I said, it's not that I dislike either of them - I do like Sumia, and it's not her fault that the writers basically chained her to Chrom storywise.

I just feel like they shouldn't have made Chrom's romance so biased towards her. In regards to Chrom/Avatar, storywise I do agree that they can come off as a forced romance as well (even though the female avatar is last on the priority list of girls who can marry Chrom besides the village girl). Just from how close the two of them get over the course of the game, it's a bit weird when you have one of them marry someone else considering the fact that their closeness is constantly emphasized
It makes it quite awkward when you get one of them married to someone else. That being said, I do like the pairing much more than Chrom/Sumia, probably because while the two do get really close it's never openly stated as a romance unless you make it one. I just wish that the story was balanced in regards to romance options for Chrom - his events with other girls don't come off as nearly as romantic as his with Sumia's (and then there's Olivia, who he doesn't even get supports with until
after they're married). While I agree that his S rank with Sumia was the worst, the fact that, like I said,
just shows how biased the romance is. And then there's the fact that the cutscene where she rescues him is titled "Lovebirds," they're seen together in the opening with Sumia holding a baby, and the fact that the scene where she rescues him even
gets a special CG cutscene - I mean, it was gorgeous and all but the scene wasn't really important to the overall plot
at all and was evidently only there to reinforce the fact that they're canon.
/second ridiculous rant over
Anyway, I was on chapter 9, doing well, I had recruited Libra...and then I accidentally killed Tharja. I hadn't saved at all during the chapter and as a result had to restart it so I wouldn't kill Tharja again and would be able to recruit both her and Libra. Dx I was doing so well, too.

With Chrom x MU, I find a lot of their actions/interactions forced ship feels, but they could also be just really close friends. Like, the kind you see on cop shows. Or something like that.
But yeah, there is a ridiculous amount of the game kind of shoving Chrom x fem!MU, Chrom x Sumia, and mal!MU x Lucina, which is all weird.

There were only two times where I felt like SumiaxChrom was pushed: the opening and that "Lovebirds" scene. Ok, not even the scene, just that it's named lovebirds even if Chrom's already happily married to me. :/
And after that Sumia only appears like once in the plot scenes (unless she marries Chrom) while MU and Chrom have all those super close moments so I feel like ChromxMU is way more "meant to be" than any other couple tbh.

Yuuuup. Even as the male MU, Chrom and the MU have quite the romance

I agree it's a little awkward at points in the story, especially when they're married to other people and yet still discussing their devotion to each other. There were certain points in the plot where I was like ._. "Chrom... you have a wife and two kids. CHROM. Stahp." Especially the part you mentioned where Chrom says:
I was like ooooooooook guys tone it down your wives are RIGHT THERE

Sooo, out of curiosity, how many of you guys had your avatars stay tacticians/grandmasters?
I kept mine a Grandmaster through the story, but
has been kicking my butt repeatedly and so I've class changed my avatar to a Pegasus Knight so I can get Galeforce (I promoted Sumia and Cordelia before they got it not knowing that it existed). After I get it, I'll promote myself to Dark Flier because as much as I love being a Pegasus Knight I miss my tomes ;-; I'll stay a Dark Flier to get through
Not sure if I'll switch back to Grandmaster afterwards because in all honestly being a Pegasus Knight is pretty fun. xD

I either switched like mad, but when it really called for firepower I'd stick to either a sage, sorceress or now, bride
While I do miss tomes, bride is too much fun and still has access to staves, where rescue came in handy
Gonna stick to bride from now on, but changing classes was always a ball. xD

I've only beaten the game once and I stayed a Tactician/Grandmaster the whole time. Granted that was on normal, so now that I'm playing through on hard I might class hop to get skills I want. Counter for everyone hooray!

After 200+ hours of gameplay (between my brother and I), I'd like to share my experiences.
On my first playthrough, my Male MU went like this: lvl 20 tactician > lvl 10 mage > lvl 10 barbarian > lvl 10 tactician > Grandmaster
I was going for a crit build, ending up with focus and gamble to give me 20 crit. I didn't realize that I could have went tactician > mage > lvl 20 barbarian > 2nd seal to grandmaster until much later. Also, these levels practically made my MU a killing machine. So I place handicaps and make him use bronze weapons. Of course, I still do tons of damage due to the critical skills I got through these. I could unequip them, but...nah.
Currently on chapter 22 of my first playthrough, and I have been support farming and planning out some marriages before tackling what seems like the final showdown. I also want to get the kids before doing this battle. So far I have:
ChromxSumia
DonnelxMaribelle (farmer and noble FTW)
I'm dead-set on the following:
GaiusxPanne (Panne Knight anyone?)
RickenxTharja
NowixVaike or Kellam (depending on my marriage). I do prefer Nah with Gregor's reddish hair, but...
The rest of the marriages will fall into place, but only until I overcome my biggest struggle: choosing who to wed. This is just like RF where I end up indecisive on who to choose, but I get the feeling that my feels won't get the better of me.
It started with Lissa, since the game really tries to pair you together since she's clearly interested in you and praises your skills as much as Chrom. She had it going with her supports with the MU. It reminded me of someone I once knew IRL. Then Cordelia came into the picture, and I couldn't stop myself from going after her. I did her supports, but I also had her support with Kellam, and I loved the supports between the two to the point of letting Kellam have her.
I struggled with indecisiveness and desperation. The chapters flew by. Chapter 14, and I get my first S support of NowixGregor just to see their kid's paralogue. Nah caught my interest. She would be wonderful as a daughter, so I mock-married Nowi and had two of the best dragonkids kicking « Mr.Gourmet's hat » on the field. I loved her even more with her supports as a Dad, and was considering marrying her to have a really powerful Morgan.
There was one thing I declared when choosing marriages, and it is NOT to marry someone for the kids or class/skill inheritance, and marry them out of interest and based on the supports. I wanted it to feel believable. Chapter 16 passes, and I meet Tiki. I never played the FE games featuring Marth, so she was new to me. It was too easy to be attracted to her, and it doesn't help that she has a romantic support with only the MU. I did her supports and loved them, but it makes my final decision even harder.
As of this day, my choices are Lissa, Cordelia, Tiki, and possibly Nah if I choose to leave my MU single and marry off the 1st gen. Care to share your journey in deciding on who to end up with?
