Voice actor unions are very.....strict about these sorts of things, so I'm assuming that's the explanation behind it. It's a shame, but it is what it is. So! We'll have to play the guessing game :D I'm sure it won't be too hard.

Can't say I really understand the need to know to be honest. That's like needing to know the name of the guy that just made my Whopper at Burger King. I don't care who he is, as long as the burger is good. But I realized some people get into knowing those types of details.

Thanks for the updates and all. It's pretty cool that they are sharing with the fans as they are working on the game. The fact that they are fixing bugs as they translate is also fantastic.

If worst comes to worst I'll have my preorder picked up by my Mother and she'll hold onto it for me until my fall semester is finished and I come back for Christmas. I think as long as you have the receipt they'll let someone else pick it up for you......I THINK. This is EB Games, whom i'm not used to working with because of my schooling in Florida. There are only Gamestops around.

Well, I'll be calling them today if Animal Crossing is still on time for Sunday so I guess I'll ask them then. I'd just love Xseed to death if it came out before September, but again, no rushing them. The game will be ready when its ready.

Frankly, I know nothing about any English VAs and their standing in the western media market. But, it still came as a surprise for me to know about how serious the matter about VA is in the Western game industry.

It's such a contrast compared with the Japanese market, where whose voice a character has sells. A lot.
To the level that I even dare to say that some of the guys in RF4 are popular among the J-fans just because they're voiced by some currently hot/popular voice actors.

Well, it's an important thing to a lot of people, including me. It's the same thing as people having a favorite actor/actress..I certainly prefer some more than others.

The reason voice actors stay uncredited on certain projects is because of potential backlash from the union they belong to. Savin877 over at the Xseed forums described the situation better than I have time for, so I'll quote them:

"1) Most voice actors belong to specific unions to guarantee rights, pay, privileges, legal, etc blah blah
2) If the project they work on is supported by their specific union their names are usually (but not always) listed in the credits
3) Sometimes said voice actors work on games that are not contracted with their unions, thus because this could paint them in a negative light they request to keep their names off of it.

It sucks, but like I said before, it is what it is. Also, like Lon said, we'll most likely be able to figure out the voices anyways; especially if they are from popular voice actors.

The two of them are literally in bloody everything video game related that gets a dub.

I'm not freaking joking, especially Liam.

And on that note, I love Liam O'Brian to bits but he really needs to cool it, because his voice doesn't have much differentiation, and thats why he's so recognizable.

The same goes for Laura Bailey, but in her case she has the most annoying voice in the existence of the universe. I want to chuck my controller/system every time she utters a syllable. AUUGH.

REALLY DON'T WANT HER IN MY RF4, BUT SHE PROBABLY WILL BE.

I'll stop ranting/derailing this topic now.

No, I agree. I'm not a Laura Bailey fan either at all, and I'm not really going to be pleased if she's a voice in RF4.. but what can you do. I love Liam as well, but I don't think he'd actually fit any of the characters.. and yeah, he's a little too prevalent as well.

I'm still kind of hoping Gideon Emery voices someone (probably would be Leon if anyone) because I'm a huge fangirl, but I know it's not going to happen

About Laura Bailey, I agree. Everyone usually questions me when I say I'm not a Laura Bailey fan. It's just something about her voice. It sounds way fake to me, and I know that she's a voice actor, so obviously it is, but it sounds really fake. It just doesn't sound natural to me, I guess is what I'm trying to say. Then adding on to that I don't really like the characters she plays most of the time. Can't think of even one that I liked off of the top of my head.

As long as they're not bad I'm pretty much good with any voice actor other than Laura bailey.

Andrew Francis voicing Kiel or Dylas, hands down.

I sort of have to agree on the whole Laura Bailey thing. Never really did like her voice much. Though I have to admit, she does do some pretty decent voice acting on occasion ...

On the topic of VA's, I'd like to see people like Gideon Emery, and maybe Patrick Seitz ... Though I don't really have too much of a preference. As long as the voices are good overall, I'm fine with pretty much any VA.

/Although I still like to imagine my favorite VAs (Which is only like 1 or 2) doing the character's voices.

I haven't actually watched or played much Laura Bailey stuff, but from the stuff that I have seen of her the only performance I didn't really like her in was Tohru from Fruits Basket. She was arguably one of the better voices in that dub but that's not saying much since the FB dub was terrible and she was so flat at times.

She was better than Ayame and Kyo, at least. Oh gosh, Ayame. Chris Sabat should never voice bishonen characters, especially ones that are mistaken for girls as much as Ayame.

Off-topicness aside Vishnal has been compared to Tamaki from Ouran before so I DEMAND HE'S VIC MIGNOGNA /though if he's not that's perfectly fine but it would still be cool

But yeah like everyone says as long as the dub's good I'm good. C:
