Harvest Moon 3, way back when I was 8. My brother's friend was playing the game when I went over to her house to play with her sister, and she always recommended my brother cool games (I learned about Zelda from her too) so I got curious and she let me try it out. I didn't get my hands on a copy of my own for a few months though. My parents bought it for me as a compensation gift when I broke my arm.
The original SNES version was my first HM. I played it when I was... I don't even remember, I was really little. My brother was playing it so I wanted to too and then I was hooked.
Harvest Moon DS was my first game and I loved it so much that I didn't even mind all the glitches. Two of my friends and I used to get together and then play our games together for hours. Those were good times.
Don't they always? Mine was HM64. So I feel your pain. ; o ;
Harvest Moon for me. On the SNES. It was such a cool game, one of the last released for the SNES console you know. And one of the very best imo; I was pretty hooked, and then HM N64 came out and that was an improvement on the original in pretty much every way. I bought every Harvest Moon game that came out on consoles after that, even going to far as to get a PS1 to play BTN on. Never got into the handhelds as much, but that might be largely because until the GBA versions they were mostly not as good as the console releases.
The first one I played was HM 64. I was really into it but I didn't know what I was doing most of the time. I would just farm and forage and didn't bother trying to make anyone fall in love with me. It wasn't till I was almost done that I realized that it was a key part of the game. Unfortunately I never restarted the game, and didn't play any other harvest moon games for about 8 years when I got HM:ANB :3
