runefactor wrote:^They did certainly improve a lot. Don't get me wrong, I like how RF4 looks and by no means was I expecting Frontier or Tides and I don't know how fair it is to compair RF4 to ANB but I think I'd expect the same level of improvement from a game to the other like there was from ToTT to ANB as I stated earlier. Gladly, I know graphics aren't the most important thing. :lala:
The problem is RF4 need much more space for other thing since it also have rpg part too so it can't put everything into graphic improve like ABN.

I reaaaaaaaaly want a demon type class to emerge in the next game. I just really adore demon types in fantasy games (big disgaea fan over here)

And if no customization option is possible, give us a choice between like 6 different protagonists. For example, you could play a boy/girl human, a boy/girl half-monster, a boy dwarf and a girl elf, etc. (a demon hopefully c: )
But heck, judging by what the Fire Emblem game just did with customizable 2D portraits, anything is possible

I don't want any amnesia in the next game at all. Unless the whole freaking town gets it, no one should have it. Unless they introduce a cool new NPC who is amnesiac and instead of forcing manual labor on them the town helps them learn how to be a functioning person again, like teaching an alien our ways. They could turn out differently depending on how the protag acts idk

Special attack modes for each character! I had an idea for a town that had big rune crystals in it and the towns folk mine them and use them to help out with everyday life and they all have one that lets them go into a super mode in the heat of battle (like the knight character gets huge armor made of rune energy and a big ole sword, the mage can float around and just spam crazy magic, etc). It won't be anything like that, but something similar would appease me.

More dungeons and no Spring Forest dungeon would be nice as heck. I am so tired of the fall forest, summer sands, and winter mountain formula. None of the dungeons from 2 or 3 could even be called that! They were open spaces for pete's sake!

And for the love of gob, make runes relevant again. I want to grow crops in dungeons to help me whoop « Mr.Gourmet's hat ». I want my RUNE FACTORIES back. I also want more incentive to run through the whole dungeon at one and not just skip to the boss. The first game had it right.
Also I want the backgrounds to look as cool as they did in the first game. Robot statues, random mushroom statues, ruins, caves of all types, cool giant seashells, nice buildings, etc.

short version of what I want: make rune factory 1 again and put some demons in this time c;

I always want to see reflect in the sprites/portraits when your spouse or female player is pregnant.
Also in the case of the female player offer the option to play as your husband while you stay in bed.
Also more boyfriend/girlfriend interaction like Scytharius mentioned earlier. and to add more and post marriage quest involved fullfilling a dream of your husband/wife, like open a especial shop or build a theater or something like that.

i cant enter in details because my english is lame (sorry for that). but i love to see these interactions.

have a good day.

You seem to have a better grasp on English than a lot of people I know.

I like the pregnancy idea a lot!
I personally think seeing your wife pregnant would be adorable and add an extra level of feeling attached to her.

Also seconding same-gender marriages. I felt that giving the option swap sprites was a good step, but it's not... really the same as playing a girl who is able to romance other girls considering that the game still acts like that the protagonist is romancing someone of the opposite gender.

It's probably already said but I'd like to see the kids from RF2 available to marry, along with Monica. I loved Monica personally. And maybe Candy.

It'd be cool to see the RF2 second generation thing come back. I thought it was neat being able to play as the first generation protagonist's child and interacting with rival couple's kids. Sure it could have been handled better, but future titles could improve it! This would also bring back rival couples and bachelor(ette)s that fill in if you marry their rival so nobody would end up alone and all the children would be born.

All of this. RF2 had some unique concepts, it was just done really awkwardly. But the series has really progressed a lot over the years, so I would love to see them tackle it again, with much improvements. I really loved the RF2 kids.

I defiantly agree with this! My only add-on to this would be to actually grow up instead of staying a kid forever.

Another thing they could do is you starting out as a child and then you get older as the game progresses, along with everyone around you.

Edit: Oh, I'm also for same-« Chicken Hugging » marriage.

Yes

And hey I wouldn't even expect a second generation to be really packed with features like RF2. I think it would be good enough to have the main game focus on your protagonist, and then once you have your child and they grow up, you have the option to play as your kid at the beginning of the day (just for the aspect of wooing in the second generation). Your crop and animal status wouldn't move at all for that day (it would be just like a pause day), and it could even open up for some new hobbies that kids do.

Or I mean you could just play as your kid and do your daily routine as your kid if they would rather that. You could play mini games with the other children like hide and seek, chase, play fighting (with toy or wooden weapons idk). Idk about your child being able to go into the dungeons (Aron/Aria had to sneak into them didn't they?)

I... didn't like the 2nd gen. It was unique, but I can't get into it. I'd already invested in Kyle and I could never like his kids for taking his place as the player character. Whenever I tried to play though again I couldn't move on to the second generation just because I didn't want to give Kyle up. And the change in perspective from the same age as most of the town to being younger, as well as the relationship changes that came with that... well, it was neat, but it didn't sit well with me. I wouldn't want to see it brought back. Even refined.

Although whoever mentioned the children from RF2 returning, yes, I would like that. Particularly, I'd like some setup where if you play as a boy, Aria lives in town, and if you play as a girl, Aaron is there instead. As for Candy, however, she already came back in ToD. Someone else should get a turn.

I'd like this a lot, it could even be done without a second generation and the main character could grow up, age, and develop throughout the game.

I know it'd take a lot of work to make the second generation/aging mechanic turn out well, but with the characters, plot, and gameplay mechanics being improved there's a possibility that it could happen.

You mean "with the passion of a thousand fiery suns" xD?

I think the game would be a bit weird if he just came along with a thousand suns behind him.
