Like in RFF you could choose to have Eunice go on a diet (if you wanted, you didn't have to), and after a certain amount of time her picture and character would change for good. I thought it was a nice touch. It doesn't have to be about weight or anything like the sort, but you can have a character gain a major amount of confidence or something along the lines. It can be something small like just holding their chin up higher and smiling more often. Things like that keep my interest more often.
It would be cool to go through an event to help a severely introverted/depressed person open up a bit more and become confident and optimistic.

I would have said Dorothy, but Kross is a good male substitute.

I don't know about Kross but Dorothy remained fairly shy. She mostly opened up to the MC. I'm talking more about helping them open up to everyone in town and be more outgoing.

^ Well if that's the case I'll have to make sure to marry him as well to see that.

Dunno if this is in RF4 since I haven't looked up much info (waiting on the Localization) but I would like it if your child took on more characteristics of their other parent. I know in ToD/Oceans your child's eyes and hair (skin, too if their Maerwyn's kid) but I'd like for that to be in more titles, even more so if they take on elements of the other parent's personality.
For leveling up maybe they could do a point distribution system like in most old-school RPGs? Probably just wishful thinking on my part :v

As it stands now, you just make them like you by bombarding them with gifts, talking to them daily, and doing requests. I'd rather see something a little different, where there's more interaction and reliance on what the others can do in order to progress through the game.
Perhaps they could introduce an experience system for the entire town, which gives them experience in their respective fields of expertise. Instead of always just having everyone available for combat, they could instead have different jobs that they do, such as bartering overseas for better prices, helping you craft components needed for weapons or potions, researching spells and combat techniques, or exploring and opening up different dungeons. Instead of only them making requests of you, you could also make requests of them, and as you become familiar with them and start working together more, your relationships with each other begin to grow, triggering events.
More than that, I'd like to see more of an emphasis on protecting the town and villagers. They usually seem pretty removed from most of the events that happen during the game. I'd like to see things hitting much closer to home, such as repelling monster raids on the town, saving villagers from dungeons, and stuff of that nature. Failure could even have an impact, disabling the store or leaving the villager unavailable for a few days in the hospital, whereas success could lead to vast improvements in your relationship with the involved villager, and even bonus perks or discounts.
yesssss
tbh though i doubt we'll see anything this involved in the rune factory series - harvest moon has a Formula, and it sticks to that Formula because people buy it for that Formula. it'd be nice to see a game like this on the market in general. hell, i kind of want to hold this sort of thing in my heart as a long-term personal project.
i think the closest rf comes to anything like this is frontier's system, where each bachelorette has not only gift lp tiers but also gains fp/lp with you for doing certain events (like the letters or the constellation nights) or for leveling certain skills (i think uzuki's is combat but idk any others).

What, you don't like DLC? Who doesn't love paying for a game just to find out that they need to pay extra for the best features? And always online would rock! Then you get to put up with censors 24/7, and if the server goes down your game is useless.

i want that rf5 will come to 3ds, have multiplayer function that two or more players can battle each other. It will be interesting lol
and i hope that rf5 have availability to change camera view like anb, but more interesting than it though. Where we can view sky or look far (maybe mc need telescope or anything like that lol)

Yes to DLC.
Yes and no to online, online would be great if it were an option, like say you have the option to play by yourself.. with your friends locally.. or play with your friends online.
Definite yes to PVP.
I'm not sure about the last part.

If the next game has DLC I, more than likely, will not buy it. Especially if you have to have the DLC to finish the game plot or get extra background info on characters. I dislike buying a game and then paying more to experience the full game. If it's free DLC even because if I pop my cartridge into another system I would have to redownload the DLC or swap memory cards.
It just seems like more of a hassle.

I love all these ideas, but I'd also like to suggest a single file non-rewritable save system as well. And it could save your game automatically, so you wouldn't accidentally forget to save
