I remember the first time I had a child it took place in the bathroom of my house, but is that a requirement? I don't have a bethroom in my new save file so I had to check!

No, you don't need a bathroom in this game for the pregnancy event to trigger. I usually never get the bathroom on my files, I usually forget you can get them
