Legendary Sword & the Fishing Pole - DS Cute

I've for the most part been playing this game blind, referring to the guide very minimally, so I don't really know how to get my hands on the fishing pole. I'll figure it out eventually, I do NOT want advice on how to get it.

Now what I know from previous conversations is that to pick up the Legendary Sword in DS Cute, you must have all tools at mystrile. I can most certainly handle that. My question is, if I don't OWN the fishing pole can I still pick up the Legendary Sword? Technically all my tools are at mystrile...

No, I'm sure you need fishing pole at mystrile to. Are you sure you don't want to know how to get it?
